The concept of the "Ideal Horse" was developed in memory of my own "Ideal Horse", WN Spanish Dancer+/.
After many years of training and showing Arabian horses, and hating the often harsh training methods used to get them ready, it was time for me to make a change. Time to find a new and better way of training. What I discovered wasn't new at all, it was the nearly lost art of natural horsemanship. Today, my mission is to help others learn what I've learned -- that it is possible to create an ideal relationship with your horse, one based on knowledge, mutual respect and trust, rather than fear and intimidation.
At "Ideal Horse" we teach people the tools that bring out the best in horse and rider. As you work with your horse, the two of you will form a partnership. That partnership then becomes the foundation for pursuing your dreams, whether your dream is to simply ride a wonderful horse, or to train and show a champion.
Call or e-mail us to learn more about our training, lesson, or boarding programs. We can help you develop an ideal relationship with your horse, or with one of our lesson horses.

Trailer loading seems like such a simple thing. Yet, for many people (and horses) it's a frustrating, sometimes scary, task. Those who attended our mini-clinic on January 25th, experienced first-hand how difficult, or EASY, trailer loading can be. We saw horses that loaded well, horses that had to work at it a little, and one horse that was inadvertantly taught... as we all watched... to back away from the trailer (it's a very easy thing to do). We also saw horses that loaded easily from a distance, including one horse that was loaded while her owner sat in a chair 30 feet away from the trailer. This same horse showed us how she could open the trailer door and let herself in. Anything is possible.
Please take the trailer loading poll and view the results.
We have been asked many times if the natural horsemanship methods we use and teach can be successfully taken to the show ring. Until recently our reply was we thought so, but because we hadn't shown since beginning to use our new methods exclusively, we couldn't back that up with results. On February 2, 2003 this changed. We took four horses, and several students, to a schooling show. Our horses were warmed up and shown in the same equipment they are ridden in every day at our training center; no whips, no spurs, no martingales, no draw reins, and no harsh bits. Our students (three of whom had never shown before) were anxious and excited, but went into the ring and rode like they do everyday at the center, relaxed, calm, and in control. Together, our horses and riders won or placed in every class they were in! So, can the art of natural horsemanship be used successfully in the show ring? Yes! We can teach you how.
