My good friend Jonathan Nogueira wrote these

a life is like a flame, a small, lovely flame
a flame that needs to be constantly stoked
if the flame is not stoked, it turns to an ugly pile of ash a blackened, dead ash
but if it is stoked, a light is created from that flame
A bright light all can see, illuminating even the darkest parts of one's mind
I find that to be the most beautiful thing in this world,
the light from one person's heart, allowing all others to be lit as well
so I'll stay back behind the curtain, stoking those fires in peoples hearts
I'll live for others all my life, looking not for a reward
for my reward is the pure light that shines from a properly stoked flame,
and me being there to watch as it only gets larger
and no worries of one goes out, for I'll be there to re-light it

the universe is huge, huge and mysterious
this everyone knows
God created this universe for us to explore
this huge, mysterious place we stay
and thus, the first scientists were born: explorers
these explorers wanted to find just how much stuff was here in this universe
just what God had created
they spent years exploring and discovering all this
then one day some started to doubt God could make all this magnifisence
he said" how could one entity have done all this? it's impossible, nothing is that powerful!"
so many agreed with him, after all it made sense....
until science and discovery were no longer here to learn of God's greatness
but to disprove his existence altogether
why can't we go back to when the sciences were the will of God?
God blessed us with a curiousity to discover his world
a curiousity I want to fully take advantage of
I am a man of science
But I am a man of the Lord
science, discovery, technology, was all stemmed from curiousity
and curiousity was stemmed from God's will to let us learn of our surroundings
so embrace the sciences, but remember, they exist becuase of God

which is a harder sacrifice? to die for something or to live for it?
if you could give all you can to one thing, what would it be?
if nothing happens when we die, then why do we keep living?

people are dry, dry as a desert. yes, there are a few things here and there living there but its mostly barren. there might be oasises somewhere.

people should fight more...... it lets out stress but then it teaches violence.... but stress usually leads to violence too..... if we all killed each other, there'd be no more violence....
but killing is violent......

mom, can I have dessert?
no...
why not?
becuase, you haven't finished your peas...
um...... whats that gotta do with dessert?
you can't have dessert without peas...
why?
becuase there are starving children in africa...
then lets send the peas to them!
no you have to eat them...
but people are starving in africa!
thats their problem...
humph...
where are you going?
I'm gonna go put these peas in an envelope!
they won't stay..... the paper will get wet... and they'll go bad
well, gee, I don't think they'll care if they have old, wet peas if they're starving!
just stop trying...
but they need peas!
you need peas too...
why?
or you'll starve...

"if the only way to save something is to give something up, then there is another, easier way to do it... we just haven't found it"

"whats the best way to kill someone? take away their life"

"what doesn't kill you doesn't make you stronger.... it just makes you not dead, and thats a good thing"

"the most beatiful paintings always have more than one color"

"the best part about the world being three dimensional is you can look at things from different angles"

"the funny thing about the scientific method is that its only been proven to make sense through the scientific method"

"donuts are like sin, they are sweet and delicious... but they got a big hole in 'em"

"wouldn't it suck if you lost pairs of pants in the dryer like you did pairs of socks?"

when you plant something, it has a chance of dying by getting strangled by weeds, or not getting enough water, or getting stomped by someone, any variety of things, but the funny thing is..... a flower can only bloom when it has gotten around all those things.....

candela road......my candela road..... I travel it and revel in it....I love its beauty and splendor....I listen to the songs of the birds in the trees.... their songs are lovely..... I look at the wonderfull trees, their green leaves full of life, I see the graceful deer, and think of its gentle, soft fur as it passes by, I reach the end of this road and say to myself
"man.... my feet hurt"

I love all you guys
