The mission of Forever Families is to promote fellowship between adoptive families, to be supportive
of families through prayer and encouragement, to be a help resource for families considering adoption
and to glorify God by doing His will in helping to find families for orphaned children everywhere, who
desperately need to feel the love of a “forever family.”
Forever Families was started in December of 2002. It is a Christian adoption support group for the South Central
Texas region. It is our hope that this organization will benefit families who have adopted as well as families who are
considering adoption or are in the process of adoption.
We are so excited at the blessings the Lord is pouring over Forever Families. In its short existence, we already have adoptees from China, Russia, Korea, the Philippines, Kazakhstan, Guatemala, India, El Salvador and the United States. There are families who have experienced international adoption, domestic adoption and those considering adoption for the first time. There are children who entered their forever families as infants and those who entered as teenagers. There is a wide variety of children with special needs and those who are healthy.
The group is very diverse, and yet we share two very special things in common; we love the Lord and we love our children. It is our hope that everyone would feel comfortable in the group and that we can recognize that God has called each of us to different situations. We feel that each family has something to contribute to this group and that each of us can learn from one another.
We meet every other month on a Sunday afternoon for a time of fellowship. If you are interested in participating, please contact us for information about what is planned for the next fellowship and a map. We hope you will be able to attend and look forward to getting to know your family.
We are in the process of preparing the adoption stories of many of the children in the group. We feel this will be a great source of encouragement and testimony of faith for those families adopting and considering adoption.
