Another pitiful update
Nope, nothing new to report. I just wanted to point out that this "Fcuk" sign just got a laugh from a Korean friend.

So to all of you who told me, "That's not funny; it's a well-known store," I say "Ha!"
For me there's not much point in saying anything here without pictures to go with it.
The weather's warming up, and today was the first time I rode my scooter with my jacket unzipped. Everything's still brown, so there's nothing new to see in the scenery. My scooter finally starts on its own without me kicking it.
I will buy a new camera soon, as soon as I know I have the money and I have a trusted Korean friend to help me out.
The rest of you, mind your own business.
What's going on
This page has been static lately because my camera has stopped working. There's a problem with the power connection, and it's more than conventional tape can fix (as I've been using for the past half year). I thought rather than go through the process of getting it fixed, I'm going to wait a month and buy a new and better one. It'll be the same model, just with more megapixels and a higher zoom. I just want to wait one paycheque before committing myself.
You might as well take a look at the last photos my camera ever took, all 99 of them.
It was quite a show; my camera finally broke and I lost my glasses at the same time. They later found my glasses where somebody must have put them, but not after I bought a new pair. Even without Annan I had some expert help choosing frames, and I'm going to stick with the new glasses.
There's a lot of little personal stuff going on also, but posting it on a website is not the way for me to tell you.
Until February 20, I'm going to feel blind.
Lunar New Year
I took absolutely no photos on any other day after Wednesday. Work has begun on a documentary for CJSR, so I've been in a more audio mood than visual.
Speaking of radio, Indecline has put up an online station. If you have Winamp, you can listen using this address. It's mostly punk, but I've heard a lot of other weird stuff.
Apparently somebody got into my Messenger account today. I'm not sure if this is because of spyware or improper logging out. This is the conversation between Joey from Skunk Records and "me."

Skunk Hell
I showed up in Sinchon today to meet up with Jonghee from Skunk Records and see Couch play. He was at his new club, Skunk Hell, redecorating with members of Couch.
I lent my considerably limited spraypainting talents. Check out my attempt at a punk.

Jonghee bought the old Drug location. If you remember previous photos, that place was pretty heavily spraypainted already. He decided it was time to make our own history.

If you look in the corner where it says "Hite, OB, Cass," right next to it I wrote "mekjoo" in Korean.

The blurry girl on the left is Sharon, the drummer from Couch.

And I didn't get the bassist's name.

Here's some of my work.

Yongsan Electronics Market
Very few pictures today. I was more intent on shopping.

What's new
I've had to move a lot of pictures into the archives early. This weekend was filled with adventure, and the three galleries below took place over the last two days.
On Saturday night I went in to Sinchon with Deanna, and we saw a poster for DJ Tryptomene, who is from Edmonton. I've been aware of an Edmontonian living in Korea who brings over Alberta DJs at no travel cost, and he might be involved in this. The club is called Joker Red, and we'll be there. Once I meet this guy I'll find out if it's feasible to fly Edmonton bands up here.
I met up with a bunch of Korean punks and had a very interesting conversation. One of the guys just bought up the space Drug is in, and he's gonna turn it into the new Skunk Hell. He already mentioned he thinks it would be cool to have a reggae night there DJed by me. He's also working on a zine, and I'm going to volunteer my writing and photography for that.
I also have a new website dedicated to Korean punk. You can just go to http://www.digitalgrotto.tk, or if you're in Korea, try this link.
