We start where the last adventure ended off, in Lotte World. Deanna and I were both feeling worn out and tired of being on our feet. Not a good start to an adventure.

We caught the subway up to Sinchon.

The only free seats were the elderly/handicapped/pregnant seats. These kids didn't pay heed, so neither did we.

I'm not good at telling, but the girl with the striped scarf looks a lot like the drummer from Couch.

All of Sinchon was an ice rink. On hills like this, it was nearly unpassable.

We went to a park next to Hongik University where all the punks hang out. In the summertime. Right now it was dead. This is the washroom.

Progress.

There are always some funny mascots on this corner. Last time it was some guys in police uniforms soliciting for that hair salon. I called them the Fashion Police.

We were waiting for someone, so Deanna started pushing her imaginary friend.

This crazy dog came up and licked my boot. It was wet everywhere.

Some Korean graffitti.

After almost an hour, Jonghee (singer from RUX and owner of Skunk Label) showed up. I bought five CDs off him for 20 000 won, which is a good deal, and we went to a bar nearby.
From left to right: a guitarist from RUX, the singer of streetpunk band Jiraltan99, me, Jonghee, and Burke from Assignment 27.
Burke has been in Korea for five years. When he got here he was a skinhead and he introduced the culture to the kids here. He later started a psychobilly band, but they couldn't find a stand-up bass so they're kind of a different sound. He's leaving Korea soon, and I'm going to his final show two weekends from now.

Meeting up with these guys was a really good idea. Jonghee is starting a zine, and he needs writers and photographers. I'm gonna do both. He just bought out the venue Drug, which is going to be renamed Skunk Hell. He's already offered to let me DJ a reggae night there.
He asked me if I know Longshot Records, and I found out he knows and loves the Wednesday Night Heroes. He expressed a lot of interest in inviting the Heroes up here for an Asian tour.
