Name: Corydoras adolfoi
Original Place: Rio Negro, Brasil
Body Size: 2-4 cm |
The fascination of Corydoras adolfoi is the bright orange color on the head and
the black band on the back. I had just one adolfoi, who was very sensitive in that
he mattered a water hardness and pH. He loves to eat black worms.
This is one of the most precious and beautiful corys.(Mar,2001)
Now, I have six adolfoi, who always swim together.(Jul,2001) |

Name: Corydoras aeneus

healthy. |
|
Name: Corydoras aeneus
Original Place: Any place in the Sounth America
Body Size: 3-5 cm
Born: Jan 10, 2001 |
The left cory is the bred baby of Corydoras aeneus in my house. Aeneus mother laid
about 100 eggs in the beginning of this year (2001), but only 10 cory grew up for
this size because it was the first time to take care of aeneus babies. Anyway,
they are growing up day by day.(Mar,2001) |
|
Name: Corydoras aeneus (albino type)
Original Place: Any place in the Sounth America
Body Size: 3-5 cm |
This is the albino type of Corydoras aeneus. His behavior is wierd a little bit in that
he doesn't try to find feed in his meal time, and he is not afraid of my silhouette
(most corys recognize human's shadow as a danger).(Mar,2001)
I'm sorry that I missed him... (Jul,2001) |

Name: Corydoras delphax
Original Place: RioInirida, Colombia
Body Size: 3-5 cm
Berbel Type: Short nose |
I have 6 Corydoras delphax. When I bought two of them, I did not know their name
because they don't have their barbel, that is, their barbel was melted. When corys
feel stressful and uncomfortable, their berbel tend to melt. |
|
Name: Corydoras habrosus
Original Place: RioCojedes and RioPaoViejo, Venezuela
Body Size: 2-2.5 cm |
Corydoras habrosus is one of smallest corys. Its body is so small that I can't
find each habrosus in the tank. Especially, if the gravel color is brawn, it's not easy
to count how many they are. |
|
Name: Corydoras julli
Original Place: RioParnaiba, Brasil
Body Size: 3-4 cm |
Corydoras julli is very round and lovely with the one black line and the spottted
pattern in his body. I recommend to have this cory for a beginner. I have four julli
corys, who always eat too much and swim together. They are the first ones to find food
when I give feed to corys. |
|
Name: Corydoras leucomelas
Original Place: Colombia, Peru, Ecuador
Body Size: 3-4 cm |
Corydoras leucomelas is moderate and temperate. This cory is called punktatus commonly.
The black dorsal fin makes me imagine "a rabbit". The good points of this cory are very
cute and cheap. |
|
Name: Corydoras melini
Original Place: RioPapuri, RioUaupes, Colombia
Body Size: 3-4 cm |
Corydoras melini is very quite, moderate, and coward. I have one melini, but he always
hide in the back of the bogwood. He has the very cute black bands on the eyes and dorsal
fin contrased with the light pink body. |
|
Name: Corydoras metae
Original Place: RioMea, Colombia
Body Size: 2-4 cm |
Corydoras metae has a pink colored body with the black eye band and the black
line from a dorsal to tail fin. He is very round, so he loves to eat. He likes to be with
panda corys because there is only one metae. Why? I guess that these two kinds of cory
have a similar body pattern each other. On the other hand, it is funny that he is never
with melini. |
|
Name: Corydoras nijsseni
Original Place: RioNegro, Brazil
Body Size: 3-4 cm |
Nijsseni loves to stay on the wood because he is an elegance type.
When he's given feed, he always looks for feed around wood first. |
|
Name: Corydoras panda
Original Place: RioUcayali tributary, Peru
Body Size: 2-4 cm |
It was very difficult to take care and was very expensive about 10 years ago, but the
price of panda cory is almost same as that of other cory recently. It's not to hard to
keep a good health condition recently. I have 15 panda corys and about 30 babies right
now (march 25, 2001). Adult corys lay 5-20 eggs once a week because they are healthy
and always eat a lot.

Name: Corydoras sterbai
Original Place: RioGuapore, Brasil
Body Size: 4-6 cm |
Corydoras sterbai has many black spots on the white base, and has the cute orange
colored fins under the gill. I have three sterbai. They eat the most feeds, and it is
easy to take care of them. They swim very slowly, but it's amaizing that their swimming
speed is so fast when they notice my silhouette. They are also very timid. |
|
Name: Corydoras undulatus
Original Place: BuenosAires, Argentina
Body Size: 3-4 cm |
Corydoras undulatus is also a type of elegance, but he is always with aeneus.
When he eats flake, whose colors are mainly yellow, red and green, he distinguishs them
from the taste. That is, he loves to eat green one not red one. How luxury! |
|
Name: Corydoras pygmaeus
Original Place: Brazil, Peru, Ecuador
Body Size: 2.5 - 3 cm |
Corydoras pygmi is also a small cory. In my experience, pygmi is more active
and vigorous than habrosus. These corys are similar each other visually. How can we
distinguish? In the middle of the body, pygmi has the black line, but habrosus has the
black dotted line. |
