"The Big Meeting"

(in the sky)

If you don't drink and you don't die, you get older in this program and hopefully we will all live to very ripe old ages. But The SoberLady knows that the day will come when we lose those who are near and dear to us in the program of Alcoholics Anonymous. We call that going to "The Big Meeting".

The following pages will be dedicated to those she has known and loved who are no longer with us and are now saving us each a seat in "The Big Meeting (in the sky)"

She will post various amounts of information on each of the people who have joined this "infamous" group. The amount of "stuff" posted only has to do with what was available and nothing to do with the impact on her life each of these individuals had.

THEIR JOURNEY'S JUST BEGUN

Don't think of them as gone away.....
    thier journey's just begun,
    life holds so many facets.....
    this earth is only one.

Just think of them as resting,
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.

Think how they must be wishing
    that we could know today
    how nothing but our sadness
    can really pass away.

And think of them as living
in the hearts of those they touched....
for nothing loved is ever lost.........
and they were loved so much.

Tom A. (her brother ) who left us newly "clean and sober" from the affects of getting clean and sober on Labor Day Week-end, 1987 at the age of 32 years old. His heart just could not survive without the drugs to keep it going.

Mort (her first co-sponsor) passed away September 15, 1987. Mort was clean and sober for 20 1/2 years and he died the way he lived, teaching the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous to all those who visited him during the last days of his life, in the hospital.

Ron P. of Costa Rica who left us on April 27, 2001. He was at his happiest when he left us and we will miss him dearly. In Memory of Ron P
