The following jobs list is divided into categories to aid in locating individual job listings and to indicate jobs that are critical to the operation of the group and ease the load of board members & other ongoing positions. (Level 1 means more work for these people if these are not filled; Level 2's complement level 1's and further lighten the load; Level 3 are more independent and nice to have.) In the end, ALL jobs enrich the opportunities available to our members and the children/teens specifically. EVERY job is important and appreciated. This list is meant to give people many options that employ their particular talents, interests, and availabilty. We don't expect all jobs to be filled every year.
Our policy is that once a person holds a particular job, they have preference in signing up for that same job the following year ahead of other members. Once someone indicates they do not want the job they held last year, or a person leaves the group, those jobs become available (in addition to ones not filled the previous year or newly created job titles) for anyone to volunteer to hold them on a "first-come, first-serve" basis. If you are interested in a particular job after reading these job listings--- email or call me and I will "pencil you in" until Sept. 8 ("Back to School Night"). If you do not completely register by then or on that night, your job will be made available at that time once again on a "first-come, first-serve" basis.
Executive Council members must be members in good standing with 1 year prior active membership and are appointed or volunteer & confirmed at the end of the year business meeting. Executive Council members have major areas of responsibility and commit to attending monthly Council meetings. They also have a shepherding role in providing information, encouragement and a communication link with the Council on behalf of selected jobholders in other categories. Every non-Executive Council job is assigned a Council member in this helping role. (denoted by the "helped by" phrase under "job listing") There are also some jobs that naturally overlap and often need to coordinate efforts or work together. (These are indicated with the phrase "helps")
