Following the breakup of Icon in 1990, Dan Wexler put together a new band called 'Tomcats' that included Pat Dixon(drums), David Michael Phillips(guitar), Tommy Dean(vocals) and Tom Rucci(bass). Despite recording a series of demos for Sony, the band were not picked up and Dan and Pat would eventually leave the band, which David would later rename 'Black'. Two bootleg CD's(which are NOT sanctioned by the band)exist under the title of 'Reborn Classics'. The first Icon album is doubled with an artist called 'Fist'. 'Night Of The Crime' is a 2on1 along with only 8 songs from 'A More Perfect Union'. Both CD's are not from master tapes and are of poor sound quality.

Icon were originally known as the Schoolboys. They released an independent 4 track EP in 1980 called Singin' Shoutin'. They also had songs included on KDKB's 'Arizona Sounds' albums, a feature for local, unsigned bands.
