Angel

The Prodigal

Angel and Cordy

Aired in Canada on Feb.22.00

I really liked this episode. It was sad. Angel's past was quite interesting. He's much different than he is now. I didn't like Angel before he was a vampire or when he was bad. But I guess he's not to blame. His father drove him to who he is. Since Angel has tortured thousands of people during the past two and a half centuries, you had to wonder why. It wasn't just because he was a vampire, because most vampires do show some remorse for other vampires and demons. But Angel was different I think for two reasons. His father and Darla. She taught him everything. I almost forgot about Darla until this episode. Even though i've been a watcher of Buffy since the beginning, it has been 4 years so I don't remember Darla that much, since she was killed in the first season. I think she was killed off too soon, for her character to sink into our brains.
This was one of the episodes with Kate in the plotline. I've always liked the Angel/Kate relationship but I know it won't be happening anytime. Not at all. But oh well. Just like Angel, Kate has had father problems since her mother died. When Angel's family died it wasn't quite sad but when Kate's father died it was sooo sad. The fact that Angel was right there and he couldn't do anything! I wonder how Angel can be a vampire with a soul. I love this series. The one thing I didn't understand was why he had to kill his sister and mother. Since he just turned into a vampire, he wasn't as hateful as he was later. He only came to kill his father, really. I didn't understand.
Since Doyle's death I was doubtful about this show being any good after, especially after Wesley arrived. Since buffy I hated this guy and I was happy he left but now he's sorta grown on me and he's okay. I have always loved Cordelia, but this show has brought the true Cordy out. Okay, done. More Angel later
