INSTITUTE OF INSPECTION, CLEANING AND RESTORATION CERTIFICATION
BACKGROUND

Established in 1972, the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) serves as an independent, non-profit certification body which sets and promotes high standards and ethics and works to advance communication and technical proficiency. The organization approves instructors and schools through which service professionals in the cleaning and restoration industry can receive training and become certified.

Cenification Programs

To meet the growing needs of the industry, IICRC offers a wide range of courses designed to certify individuals in the following areas:

  • Carpet Cleaning
  • Upholstery Cleaning
  • Water damage restoration
  • Fire and smoke restoration
  • Deodorization and odor control
  • Carpet repair and reinstallation
  • Carpet color repair
  • Commercial carpet maintenance
  • Hard Surface Cleaning
  • Carpet Inspection
Through development of certification course outlines and comprehensive examinations, the IICRC has led the way in establishing procedural guidelines for cleaning, restoration and inspection work. The standards have been formalized with the issuance of the Institute's three procedural reference guides: SOOl Carpet Cleaning Standard, S500 Water Damage Restoration Standard and Reference guide for Inspection of Textile Floor Coverings.

The IICRC is the world's largest unification of carpet and upholstery professionals with over 18,000 currently certified registrants. IICRC is universally recognized as the objective certification and standard-setting body for the cleaning, restoration and inspection industry. The Board of Directors is made up of eighteen regional, national and international trade associations.
