INSTITUTE OF INSPECTION CLEANING AND RESTORATION CERTIFICATION
Vancouver, WA - March 24, 2000 - The Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC), the certifying body for firms and individuals in the inspection, cleaning and restoration service industry, announced the recent release of the first edition of the IICRC S300 Standard Reference Guide for Professional Upholstery Cleaning. Volunteer members from the upholstery and fiber manufacturing industry as well as the cleaning and restoration industry joined together to form the S300 task force. They donated their technical and practical expertise to oversee the process of developing the new standard, which is comprised of two principal sections; a standard and a supporting reference guide. The S300 includes information on upholstery cleaning procedures and techniques, upholstery fiber construction and cleaning characteristics and a glossary of hundreds of industry terms. In addition, the new standard conforms to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) format and will be submitted for ANSI approval. The standard may be purchased directly through the IICRC. Single copies are available for $25, including shipping and handing. Bulk prices are available. Please contact The IICRC by phone at 360-693-5675 or by fax at 360-6934858 to order copies of the 5300 or obtain additional information. Established in 1972, The IICRC serves as an independent, non-profit
certification body. It sets and promotes high standards and ethics, and
advances communication and technical proficiency within the inspection,
cleaning and restoration service industry. The organization approves instructors
and schools through which service professionals can receive training and
certification. For more information about the IICRC, please call 360-693-5675
