Dedicated to our Grandmas:
Mae, Evelyn, Grace, Mary, and Great Grandma Ida
When Ivan was a boy, at Grandma’s house he loved to play,
In the nook and cranny’s of the attic above.
He was surrounded by the warmth and security he felt each day,
Provided by his Grandma’s Love.
When Laurie was a girl, Grandma cooked traditional meals.
Homemade with generous measures of tenderness, there was always enough.
And after the feast, there were games, laughs, and squeals,
Provided by her Grandma’s Love.
Over the years, Ivan returned home to find comfort and acceptance.
Grandma encouraged him even when times were tough.
In his hometown of Arcata, he found unconditional love and independence,
Provided by his Grandma’s Love.
At Christmas time and during each holiday through the year,
Grandma had a flair for adding magic; do you remember the stuff?
Laurie recalls the special touch of hand-made decorations, the allure,
Provided by her Grandma’s Love.
As we anticipate the joys and challenges of parenthood, hence,
We hope that our children, and their children, will embrace the feelings we’re thinking of,
When we remember the cherished family moments,
Provided by a Grandma’s Love.
