He is told to go to a pawn shop nearby, which happens to be the same pawn shop visited by the Leprechaun, and he finds the owner of the store dead. He also finds a gold coin, which brings him mysterious luck on the roulette wheel. Unfortunately, the Leprechaun wants his coin back, and chases Scott to his hotel room, just after the coin is stolen by Fazio.
When the Leprechaun tries to bite Scott, and the blood of the Lep gets mixed into the wound, Scott starts to turn into a Lep aswell. While the coin is begin passed from owner to owner, the real Leprechaun chases each person and dispatches them in gruesome ways, which leads to a showdown with both Leps, who are EXTREMELY territorial...
This film was not released in the UK, and when I started this site, so it was difficult for me to eventually get a copy. So all the stuff I read about sort of hyped it up in my mind. But when I saw this film I wasn't disappointed at all. This film I consider to be almost as good as the second film. It probably has more memorbale scenes and quotes than any of the Lep films, but is seriously hampered by its slow pace.
This movie has probably the best death scenes
all of the movies (but the single best one is in Lep 4, more of that later..).
My favourite is when a woman asks to be beautiful, and the Leprechaun decides
to turn her into Pamela Anderson times 100 by inflating her boobs, butt
and lips until she explodes. The film also has some great characters besides
the Leprechaun, unlike the first 2 movies. Fazio the magician is one, you
gotta love the little dance he does while doing his magic show :) And the
lepshit scene (see above) is priceless..... There are some really dumb
lines in the movie though. Click
here to here my favourite..
The thing that gets on my nerves though, is the sideplot about a guy who gets bitten by the Leprechaun, and gets Lepblood in the wound, whihc causes him to mutate into a half-Leprechaun himself. They guy is no great actor to begin with, and when he starts spouting those rhymes...... The direction by Brian Trenchard-Smith is good, he also directed the great cheesefest Night Of The Demons II, which is great fun. And the music is good for a movie of its nature.

So, overall, this film is just as good as Part
2 and streets ahead of part 1.
