You have stumbled on the home of my 1986 Jaguar XJ-S. I bought this car in 1998 as part of a mid life crisis. My wife said that I could have either a girlfriend or the car. I took the car......
Life with a cat in the house...
The last couple of years have been interesting living with the XJ-S. First and most important this is a GREAT car to drive. The V12 engine is smooth as silk and will pass most anything on the road except a gas station. I average about 12 mpg in my normal around town driving. There is an advantage to this car, my wife will not drive it. Why? It sits to low to the road. She has a thing about eyelevel being lower than the car in fronts license plate....
Things can go wrong...
| Starter - the first problem encountered. | |
| Waterpump | |
| Radiator - plugged (rodded out) | |
| HEI for ignition | |
| Mysterious starting problem. Turn out to be inhibit switch in console | |
| Brakes | |
| Front wheels frozen to hubs (still working on this one....) |
