Pastor Michael and Lady Darlene Newman experienced their new birth (both baptized in Jesus' name and filled with the Holy Ghost)in August 1975 under the late Bishop AC Eddings. They remained under the tutelage of Suffragan Bishop David Eddings at First Pentecostal Church of Phoenix, Arizona. Both served their pastors well in several capacities for 17 years.
Pastor Newman, an anointed teacher and preacher of the gospel, stepped out on faith receiving the pastoral call in May 1992. Lady Newman vowed to follow her husband and be faithful and helpful unto him. Pastor Newman's vision is to save the lost and provide a safe haven for people to come and worship and experience the Lord. Lady Newman has remained a "willing worker" in and for the kingdom of God in any capacity necessary.
Gethsemane Park is a strong spirit-filled church, being lead by the Lord. The Lord is adding to the church such as whom should be saved. We are grateful for over 15 years of kingdom building and are determined to strengthen the kingdom of God through love, teaching and preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and all of God's Word, as well as serving the Lord.
The principle of Gethsemane Park is "Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: Nevertheless not my will, but thine be done" St. Luke 22:42.
