I'll start up again in the new year. For those that missed out on what's been happening, here's the old news: 1) I made appearances at the World Horror Convention, OryCon, Western Horrorfind, and maybe a few other places I can't remember. 2) New books have been released: Fishy-fleshed (hot off the presses), Teeth and Tongue Landscape (with Richard Kadrey's Angel Scene) and Steel Breakfast Era (with Simon Logan's Hi-fi Queen) both came out in late 2003, and a re-release of The Baby Jesus Butt Plug with new illustrations by myself was released in early 2004. 3)My books "Ocean of Lard" (with Kevin Donihe) and "The Menstruating Mall" should be released at any day now. "Punk Land" which is my followup to Satan Burger is on the horizon. 4) I guest starred in a horror movie called "The Ancient" and I play a crazy priest character. Principal photography was finished in September. I'll be posting updates on that in the new year. 5) Satan Burger was the #1 bestselling horror novel at amazon.com for a time in June, beating out Stephen King, Anne Rice, and even The Bible (the bestest selling horror novel of all time). 6) I've decided to dedicate a lot of my time to helping author and friend Kevin L. Donihe get his career off the ground. He is an awesome author and I'm sure anyone who enjoys my books will get a kick out of his stuff. Watch for him. 8/12/03 YEAR'S BEST FANTASY AND HORROR YBF&H #16 has been released with CM3's "Porno in August." It is available at most major bookstores. Very classy book. 7/27/03 AMAZON.COM "Satan Burger" has been on the Amazon.com occult fiction bestseller list for the 5th straight month. Usually listed between Anne Rice's "Vampire Lestat" and Richard Matheson's "I am Legend." 6/10/03 SHOCKLINES I didn't see this with my own eyes, but somebody told me "Razor Wire Pubic Hair" was on the top ten list over at shocklines.com. This store is an excellent bookseller of horror books and magazines. They carry all CM3, even some of the out-of-print stuff. Highly recommend checking this site out. 5/19/03 READING FRENZY Carlton Mellick III will be doing a reading from "Razor Wire Pubic Hair" on May 23rd at Reading Frenzy with Paul Ash (author of Hotel Brain), Margaret Pao (author of Imperial Pulse), and Rose O'Keefe (Eraserhead Press). They are located at 921 SW Oak Street Portland, OR 4/9/03 WORLD HORROR CONVENTION 2003 Carlton Mellick III will be attending WHC '03 on April 16 through April 20. He will be reading from his new novel, discussing erotic horror on a panel with Wrath James White, and help throw a party for Eraserhead Press, with fellow Eraserhead's John Edward Lawson, Vincent Sakowski, and Kevin L. Donihe. If you attend this convention please say hi to CM3. He will be the guy with the big sideburns who is incredibly drunk and threatening to punch everything in his path.
