Eraserhead Press

"Publishing the new Cult Classics of Contemporary Literature"

Eraserhead Press is not your average publisher. We are an anti-commercial community center for bizarre/surreal/experimental fiction. Promoters of the offbeat and artistically strange, and enemies of mundane corporate garbage. Our goal is to take great authors of bizarre fiction out of the underground and introduce them to the masses.

We call the work we publish the to-be cult classics of literature, because our mindset is exactly the same as the directors of cult films. We strive for fresh, insane, unusual, risque tales that are so bizarre they cannot be ignored.

Eraserhead Press is always searching for authors who specialize in the bizarre as well as non-authors who want to help out. We NEED more people to make this organization grow, from editors, to promoters, to even co-publishers ... someone who would be willing to start a new branch of Eraserhead Press, doubling the production. Our saying: "Alone, I can make 5 baskets ... but give me five willing people and together we can make 30."

We ESPECIALLY need volunteers who can publicize Eraserhead authors locally. Experience isn't required to help out, just an undying love for the offbeat. So what do you say? Do you think you want to do your part to turn great underground literature into cult classics?

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

NOTE: WE ARE NOT LOOKING AT ANY UNSOLICITED SUBMISSIONS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. PLEASE DISREGARD ALL OF THE FOLLOWING SUBMISSION GUIDELINES. THEY WILL BE UPDATED ONCE WE ARE READY FOR NEW MATERIAL. ALSO, BOTH THE FIRST BOOK CONTEST AND THE NOVELLA DOUBLES SERIES HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED

We publish in three different categories:

1) Surreal/bizarre - we are especially looking for reality-bending dreamlike fiction that is both intelligent and imaginative. Think Russell Edson, Salman Rushdie, Lewis Carroll, Franz Kafka, but with a modern edge. Or films like Testuo: The Iron Man, Cemetery Man, A Clockwork Orange, Conspirators of Pleasure, and El Topo.

2) Experimental literary - we are always open to rebels of literary fiction from avant-pop to anti- literature. Think Kathy Acker, William Burroughs, Doug Rice, Michael Hemmingson.

3) Horror - we want some extreme horror that offers something new or strange. Think Kathe Koja or Neil Gaiman. No mainstream Stephen King style horror. Send us something unique and different.

NOVELS/COLLECTIONS:
