Eraserhead Press is proud to annouce the winner of the 2003 Eraserhead Press First Book Contest:CHRIS GENOA and his novel, Poof

Chris Genoa is the author of the novel “Poof,” a dark science fiction comedy about the absurdities of life at the end of the world in the 22nd century. He attended college at The College of William and Mary and graduate film school at the University of New Orleans. He is the writer, director and producer of the short films “Peep Show” and “Room for One,” the author of the one-act play “Arsenic and Old Cake” and the monodrama “Saint Francis was a Sissy.”Chris lives in Brooklyn where he is at work on his second novel, “The Long Spoon,” which is about secret societies, heresy, and the lynching of family pets in colonial and modern day small town America. Chris also once played a game of chess against a chimpanzee. At one point during the match the chimp was heard to exclaim, "What! You are giving up your Queen? Sheer madness!"
