CTRP USPSA/IPSC Program

Accuracy, Power, Speed

This page is where Central Texas Rifle and Pistol Club's IPSC program is represented. IPSC is a sport of accuracy, power, speed, and SAFETY! Targets are arranged into unique arrays that allow shooters to use their skills to the best of their ability to shoot the course accurately, quickly, and safely. While some other shooting sports only involve a few aspects of shooting(i.e. accuracy on a bullseye, a steady hand, and reloading), IPSC involves many other aspects of shooting. Some of these are movement through the course, properly drawing the weapon from a holster, accuracy under pressure, and multiple(sometimes even moving) targets.

IPSC shooting encourages competitors to hone their skills as shooters, good sportsmanship, and always puts the safe use of any shooting arm first and foremost.

New shooters to the sport are always welcome and will find that experienced shooters will work tirelessly to help improve their shooting proficiency. New shooters will also find, besides a great recreational value in the sport, many new friends among fellow competitors.

For more information about this sport, you can visit either the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) or the United States Practical Shooting Associaton (USPSA).
