I'm an Irish-American Midwesterner who has been transplanted to the sunny, and often HOT!, Southwest. Don't let anyone kid you...even though it is a dry heat remember that your oven is also. You do eventually get almost used to it...but anything over 110° is still hot, even to us.
Educationally speaking, I have degrees in Economics and Philosophy and I have studied, among other things, Tae Kwon Do, Yang style Ti Chi Chuan and Chen style Ti Chi Chuan. I also read, write, and/or speak the following languages to some degree: English (my native language), Irish, Highland Scots, French, Spanish, Italian, Latin, Greek, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese. Even after years of study I have maintained interest in Eastern philosophy, religion, music, and (of course) computers.
Professionally speaking, I've worked in the computer industry for about ten years. In that time I've focused on start-up businesses and projects and I've worked with (or for) financial institutions, non-profit organizations (including a government project or two), and a list processing company. If you're interested you can find out more about my professional life by reading my resume.
Although I have several hobbies that I spend a little time doing the one I've really found interesting is one I've just started, genealogy. If you'd like to check out my genealogy page email me and ask for the password. Once you have the password you should be able to proceed to the genealogy section without further difficulty. If you'd like to offer advice please, please email me...as a novice I can sure use it.
