Resident of Sharon Dies at Age of 72
Joseph Pasholk, a resident for many years in the
northeast part of the town of Sharon, died at his home at
5:40 o'clock Friday evening, aged 72 years last March 19.
He had been ailing for a considerable time. Mr. Pasholk's
wife died in 1914 and those surviving him are the following
sons and daughter: Basil, Rothschild; John, Galloway;
Valentine, Rosholt; Anton and Felix, Chicago; Leo, Ringle;
Peter, at home; Mrs. Thomas Augustinak, Wausau.
The funeral will be held from St. Adalbert's Church,
Alban,(in WI) at 10 o'clock Monday morning with interment in

Sharon Man Buried
The burial of Joseph Pasholk, veteran resident of the
town of Sharon, who passed away last Friday evening, was
made in St. Adalbert's parish cemetery, Alban, Monday
morning. The pallbearers were six of his sons, Basil, John,

resident who died Friday in St. Mary's hospital here, will
be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's church, Crandon.
Burial will be in Crandon's Lakeside cemetery.
He was born June 20, 1881 in Polonia, WI, and was a
resident of Elgin, IL, before moving to Crandon in 1952. He
at one time occupied the Grandine farm in Argonne. His
wife, the former Anastacia Cyehoz, died in 1938.
Among the survivors are four daughters, Mrs. Helmuth P.
(Betty) Dummer, Milwaukee; Mrs. Joseph (Frances) Kluss,
Crandon; Mrs. Herschel (Clara) Harter, Fairbanks, Alaska;
Mrs. Roy (Mary) Owens, Sturdivant; five sons, Albin,
Sylvester, Daniel, Thomas and Ferdinand, all of Elgin, a
sister, Mrs. Mary Augustinak, Wausau; and five brothers,
Basil of Minnesota; Valentine, Rosholt; Peter, Marshfield;
Antone, Hatley; and Felix, Menasha.
The body will be in state in the Halverson Funeral Home
after 1 p.m. today and rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock

Valentine Pasholk
Valentine Pasholk, Rosholt, died this morning at 5:25 at
St. Michael's Hospital. The 78-year-old man was admitted to
the hospital Thursday, following a heart attack.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10
o'clock at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church, Rosholt, with
burial to follow beside his wife in the parish cemetery.
The body is at the Dzikoski Funeral Home where friends
may call after 2 p.m. Sunday.
Court Jerem No. 1031, Catholic Daughters of American, of
which his daughter, Mrs. Rode (Grace) Sorenson, is a member,
and the Altar Society of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Custer,
to which another daughter, Mrs. Felix (Emily) Zwicki,
belongs, will join for the rosary Sunday evening at 7:30. A
general rosary will follow at 8 o'clock.
A Portage County resident most of his life, Mr. Pasholk
was born in the town of Sharon on Feb. 14, 1887, a son of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pasholk. After attending
school in Polonia, he was married to Miss Martha Bigus on
June 17, 1912, in St. Ladislaus' Catholic Church, Bevent.
After their marriage, the couple operated a farm in the
Hatley area until 1920 when they purchased a farm in the
Town of Alban, where they lived until retirement 12 years
ago. Mrs. Pasholk died in 1958. An infant son also
preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sons Bernard Pasholk, Neenah, and
Jerome, Columbus, Ohio, three daughters, Mrs. John (Theresa)
Laska, Milwaukee, Mrs. Zwicki, Town of Stockton, and Mrs.
Sorenson, 157 W. Clark St; four brothers Basil Pasholk,
Eagle River, Anton, Bevent, Felix, New London, and Peter,
Marshfield; one sister, Mrs. Mary Augustinak, Wausau; 19

The Rev. John Novak officiated at the funeral services
yesterday for Valentine Pasholk, 78, Rosholt, who died
Saturday at St. Michael's Hospital.
Funeral services were held at St. Adalbert's Catholic
Church, Rosholt, with burial following in the parish
cemetery.
Pallbearers for the funeral were Donald Laska, John
Laska, Jr., Joseph Milanowski, Jerome Greiten, Leroy Feltz,
and George Betro.
Relatives and friends attended the funeral from Neenah,
Columbus, OH, Milwaukee, Eagle River, Marshfield, New
London, Stanley, Galloway, Hatley, Rosholt and the Stevens

Obituary for Mrs. Valentine Pasholk August 11, 1958:
Mrs. Valentine Pasholk, 68, Rosholt, died at St. Mary's
Hospital in Wausau at 11:20 p.m. Saturday, following an
illness of several months.
She had been a patient at St. Michael's Hospital here in
July, and entered the Wausau Hospital two weeks ago.
Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St.
Adalbert's Catholic Church, Town of Alban, and burial will
take place in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dzikoski Funeral Home where the
rosary will be said Tuesday night at 8 o'clock.
Mrs. Pasholk and her husband had lived in Rosholt since
retiring from farming five years ago.
She was the former Martha Bigus, born in the Town of
Bevent (Marathon County) on March 12, 1890. Her parents
were the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bigus.
She attended school in Bevent and was married at St.
Ladislaus' Catholic Church there on June 17, 1912, to Mr.
Pasholk.
They lived in the Town of Reid (Marathon County)for five
years and then farmed in the Town of Alban until their
retirement.
Mrs. Pasholk is survived by her husband; three
daughters, Mrs. John (Theresa) Laska, Rosholt, Mrs. Felix
(Emily) Zywicki, Custer, and Mrs. Rhode (Grace) Sorenson,
136 W. Clark St.; two sons, Bernard, Neenah and Jerome,
Columbus, OH; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren;
two brothers, Jack Bigus, Rhinelander, and Roman, Hatley,
and five sisters, Mrs. Dora Fierek, Mrs. George Fierek, and
Mrs. Sylvan Milanowski, Hatley, Mrs. Louis Puckett, Seattle,
WA, and Mrs. John Krueger, Chicago.

Anton L. Pasholk
Anton L. Pasholk, 75, Bevent, was pronounced dead
Thursday night at St. Michael's Hospital, where he was taken
after becoming ill.
He had been a semi-invalid since suffering a stroke
seven years ago. Before that, he operated a tavern in
Bevent.
Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10 at
St. Ladislaus' Catholic Church in Bevent, with burial later
in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Dzikoski
Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Sunday, and the rosary will be
said there Sunday night at 8.
Born Oct. 9, 1894, in the Town of Sharon, he was a son
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Pasholk. On Nov. 6, 1916,
he married Veronica Check at St. Adalbert's Catholic Church,
Rosholt, and they lived on the Pasholk homestead in Sharon.
Later they lived in Stevens Point and then spent 20
years in Chicago before moving to Bevent in 1945. Mr.
Pasholk operated a tavern there until his illness in 1962.
Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Emily Pehowski,
Kenosha; two grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two
brothers, Peter and Frank; and a sister, Mrs. Mary
Augustinak, Wausau.
Five brothers preceded him in death.

Mrs. Verna (Veronica) Pasholk
Mrs. Verna (Veronica) Pasholk, 81, 1450 Water St., died
this morning at St. Michael's Hospital. She was taken there
earlier in the day by ambulance.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m., Monday at St. Ladislaus'
Catholic Church, Bevent. The Rev. Bernard Nowak will
officiate, and burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Friends may call after 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Dzikoski Funeral
Home. A general rosary will be said at 3 p.m. Sunday. St.
Stanislaus' Rosary Society, of which she was a member, will
say the rosary Sunday night at 7 o'clock.
She was born Dec. 24, 1900, in the town of Stockton,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. August Check. She
attended schools in the town. She was married to Anton
Pasholk on Nov. 6, 1916, at St. Adalbert's Church, Rosholt.
They farmed in the town of Sharon for a number of
years. They then moved to Chicago before returning to
Bevent in 1945. They operated a tavern until 1962. Her
husband died on Jan 29, 1970. She moved to Stevens Point a
few years ago.
Survivors include two grandchildren, seven great-
grandchildren and a great-great-grandson. A daughter

Elgin since 1940. He was employed as a cement finisher. He
was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army.
Surviving are his wife, Pearl Turgeon Pasholk; one
daughter, Mrs. Gene (Pat) Cerverants of Tempe, (Maricopa
Co.) AZ, one son, Wayne of Lawndale, CA; three sisters,
Mrs. Joseph (Frances) Kluss of Crandon, WI, Mrs. Roy (Mary)
Owens of Racine, WI, Mrs. Clara Harter of San Diego, CA,
four brothers, Sylvester of Elgin, Daniel and Ferdinand both
of South Elgin and Thomas of Carpentersville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister,
Elizabeth, two brother, Anthony and Max.
Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the Stout
Funeral Home, Elgin, with the Rev. James McKitrick, pastor
of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Elgin. Friends may
call at the funeral home after noon on Sunday. Prayers for
a Christian wake will be conducted at 8 p.m.

He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 799 of
Elgin and the International Union of Operating Engineers

Norma J. Pasholk, 61, of Hayward, WI, formerly of South
Elgin and Elgin, died Saturday, Jan 16, at Sherman West
Court, Elgin.
She was born Nov. 7, 1931 in Dundee, IL the daughter of
Adolph and Alma Schmidt Wagner.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Hayward.
Survivors include her husband, Ferdinand; two daughters,
Joni (Jon) Robinson of Elgin and Jean (Michael) Danhof of
Elgin; a son, John (Tami) Pasholk of South Elgin; six

Theresa C. Laska
Thresa C. Laska, 81, Milwaukee, formerly of Rosholt,
died Thursday, May 11, 1995, at her home after a long
illness.
Services will be at 9 a.m. Monday from the Janssen-
Molenda Funeral Home, Milwaukee, to St. Roman Catholic
Church, Milwaukee, for 9:30 a.m. services. Friends may call
Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home where there will

Mrs. Laska was a member of St. Barbara's Senior Citizens
and Christian Women and St. Adalbert Rosary Society. She
enjoyed sewing, dancing, cards, gardening and her family.

Bernard "Barney" Pasholk, 81, Neenah, a former Portage
County resident, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2000, at home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Therese Catholic
Church in Appleton, with the Rev. Daniel Gilsdorf officiating.
Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery in Neenah.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at Westgor
Funeral Home in Neenah and from 10 a.m. Monday at the church
until the services.

Mr. Pasholk was born May 31, 1919, in Hatley, a son of the
late Valentine and Martha (Bigus) Pasholk. He grew up and
attended school in Rosholt.

He attended technical schools in Wausau and Manitowoc,
learning the tool and die trade.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II.

He was married to Pauline Wanta in 1944. She died in 1968.

He was married to Martha 'Marge' Parman in 1969.

He retired from Neenah Foundry in 1986 after 37 years of service.

He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church and a former
member of Neenah Foundry Credit Union, the American Welding
Society and Bancroft Lions Club.

Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Elaine, Oshkosh; one son,
George (Jennifer), Waupaca; one stepdaughter, Karen
(Bob) Shadduck, Greenville; one stepson, Kevin (Susanne) Parman,
Neenah; one sister, Emily (Felix) Zywicki, Custer; and
five grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by an infant son, Joseph; two
sisters, Theresa Laska and Grace Sorenson; one brother,
Jerome; and one stepson, Keith Parman.

Mrs. Rhode (Grace) Sorenson, 49, 3320 Yvonne Drive,
Plover, Died Saturday at St. Michael's Hospital where she
had been a patient the past 10 days. She was ill for five months.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph's
Catholic Church, with the Rev. Lyle Schulte officiating.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery. A memorial to St.
Joseph's School Library has been established in lieu of flowers.
Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at Shuda Funeral
Chapel. St. Ann's Altar Rosary Society of St. Joseph's and
the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, of which she was a
member, will combine for a 7 p.m. rosary. The Knights of
Columbus, of which her husband is a member, will join the
general rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Mrs. Sorenson was born Nov. 23, 1932, in Rosholt, the
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Pasholk. She
graduated from Rosholt High School in 1947. She was
employed by Sentry Insurance until marrying Rhode Sorenson
on Sept. 21, 1953. He survives.

Mrs. William Pehowski, 56, Route 2, Bristol (Kenosha)
County, died Friday at Kenosha Memorial Hospital after a
short illness.
She was a former Portage County resident and the
daughter of Mrs. Verna Pasholk, 2425 4th Ave.
The former Emily V. Pasholk was born Jan. 17, 1918, in
the Town of Sharon, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Anton
Pasholk. She attended school in Rosholt and was married
there Nov., 13, 1933, to William Pehowski.
She had been a resident of the Kenosha area for 10 years
and was employed the last seven years by the Anchor Hocking
Glass Co., Gurnee, IL.
Mrs. Pehowski was a member of St. Scholastica's Catholic
Church at Bristol and a trustee of the International Glass
Bottle Blowers Association, Local 223.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Eugene, Belvidere, IL;
a daughter, Mrs. Albert (Maryann)Brueggeman, Sturtevant;
seven grandchildren; and her mother.
Her father died in 1968.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St.
Scholastica's Church in Bristol, with burial in the parish
cemetery. Friends may call at the Piasecki Funeral Home,
2002 52nd St., Kenosha, after 4 p.m. Sunday, and a parish
