Uji Sensei
by Ben Travis

Now, most of you Lion players have probably used this sensei at one time or another.  Many think of it as "just another Superior Tactics." However, you may not know how to effectively utilize this Sensei.  Let's take a look at it one more time:

-Uji Sensei
-1 Province Strength
+0 Gold Production
+0 Starting Honor
All Clans*Sensei
Battle: Once per turn, move any one of your unbowed personalities with Chi of 3 or more from another battle into
this one if there are one or more opposing units in this battle.

Alright other than the obvious moving ability, what's a good way to use this sensei? All it seems to do is move people, and there isn't anything you can change about that.  However, you must think of what you should do *after* you move a unit.  For Tactician decks, this is a pretty obvious sensei as you can move around your tacticians and gain additional bonuses.  Take this example: You assign two seperate armies to attack two provinces.  One army contains Ikoma Ken'o with a No-Dachi, a Matsu Gohei with a Spearmen, and Matsu Agetoki.  Your seperate army contains Matsu Gohei with the Ancestral Sword, Ikoma Gunjin, and 2 Matsu Suhadas.  Everything is assigned to block your seperate army, so you resolve that battle first.  Sneak attack and Uji Sensei that Ken'o right on over, then bow their army! It also helps if you send a weak army at one province, so you can use the sensei to back them up as soon as the battle starts. Other combinations of force bonuses could be utilized and administered effectively, especially using it as a defensive ability.  Tactician bonus on defense, move the unit, tactician bonus again, then lay down that Counterattack.  But all my provinces have -1 Strength, leaving me at 5. That just makes my provinces more vulnerable to an attack! Whoa, calm down.  There are drawbacks to most any Sensei, with only a few exceptions.  True, this reduction in strength does give your opponent (assuming that they *are* using a military deck) an edge. Otherwise, it is an ability well worth sacrificing for.

*OVERVIEW*

-A great ability to give your deck more flexibility in movement.

-Gives your Tactician a definite edge on the offense or defense.

-Provides backbone for weak armies.

-Watch out for that province strength reduction!

Have fun with this one, I'll be seeing you later!
