My Diamondback Angel

David Dellucci was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he played both football and baseball in high school and college. Since his size deterred him from playing in the NFL, he fulfilled his lifelong dream of playing baseball and came up through the Baltimore Orioles organization. He says his baseball idol is The Iron Man himself, Cal Ripken Jr. He became an Arizona Diamondback thanks to the Expansion Draft in 1997.

David is left-handed; one of many southpaws on the team. He is a versatile player with talent not only in the outfield, but at the plate as well.

My Dream Man: David Michael Dellucci

David is a true gamer and very dedicated to the sport. He loves playing baseball, meeting fans, and people watching. I had the honor of meeting this wonderful and sweet man in Tucson this year when I went to my very first Spring Training ever.

I saw 3 Diamondbacks games and met my dream man. What a great way to enjoy my vacation!!!!! I also got to take a tour of Bank One Ballpark, and brought home wonderful memories of David and the Diamondbacks.
