Hi! My name is Sue Ellen and this is my page. I am a SAHM of five children and the wife of the devastatingly handsome Derek :-). We are blessed to have five little angels - Devin (12), Brett (6) and Benjamin (5), Rebecca (2) and our newest little one Cassandra (2 months) living in our home. My husband and I believe in and practice babywearing in a sling, carrier or arms when a baby needs to be carried and we have a "family bed". Our babies sleep with us until they move into a bed with their siblings. We believe in birthing with the least amount of interventions as possible and establishing a nursing relationship within the first hour if possible with no bottles. We practice extended breastfeeding and believe that our children will wean when they are ready. Our babies are cloth diapered and allowed to choose when they are ready to use the toilet instead of imposing it to them at a certain age. We also homeschool our children to provide them with the learning style and pace that is right for each particular child. We are grateful to be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS). To find out more about what we believe in, click here. I am currently serving as a Visiting Teacher and on the Activities Committee and my husband is the Family History Consultant. We are very thankful for the Savior and His gospel in our lives. I have two brothers, one of which served a mission in Utica, New York and married his sweetheart in the Mesa Arizona temple. The other brother also returned after serving an honorable mission in Stockholm Sweden and will be marrying his sweetheart on March 15, 2001. We are lucky enough to live close to my mom and dad so the children have a wonderful relationship with their grandparents. When we can, our family meets at my parents' house and have dinner together on a Sunday evening. We always close the evening with a family prayer that we'll all be safe and protected until we meet again the next week. In my spare time (what's that?) I enjoy sewing, reading, knitting and crochet, email :-) and spending time with my family. I try to do things as naturally as possible from giving birth to using herbs to help keep my family healthy so I spend quite a bit of time studying. I have a website at called Mother's Helping Hands where you can find my homemade items for Mom and baby and lots of other useful information. We have lots of links and great tips on how to make your own diapers, nursing pads, menstrual pads and lots more. There is even a page there listing new and gently used things we have for sale or trade. I hope you enjoy my page and will come back to visit often!! *Background courtesy of: Barbara Durham |
