i hear a voice
beckoning me
with hushed tones
so soft and low
compelling to come away
i know not where i'm to go

i hear a voice
from deep within
with quiet words
i cannot hear
i know i must do something
the not knowing brings slight fear

i hear a voice
that says forget
start my life
fresh and anew
but i cannot understand
to feel alive without you

…..and yet this voice still calls to me
