a prayer of thanks
my dear sweet Chaplain Otis, you saved my life
by pointing out the way to end this age-old strife
for months i have been slowly dying inside
turned off the phones and doorbell, afraid, tried to hide
i've been crying without the tears running dry
alone in my pain and anguish with no answer why
i've even considered the unforgivable sin
thinking it would be better just to do myself in
but you reassured me through your wisdom and grace
that within this world, i do truly have a place
and not to base my life on the opinion of others
be it friends or acquaintances, sisters, mother, or brothers
you gave me the courage to reach down deep in my heart
and found that within me was the true place to start
for start i have, and there's no turning back
but i'll go forward, strength i no longer lack
so praise be to you and the Divine Father up above
for showering me with goodness; the grace of your love
thank you so very, very much!!!!
