Something to Believe

I'm here all alone, just the way it's always been

As I look around, I see things I'll never forget

The world around decays and the living envy the dead

Was this meant to be? What happened to all you said?

How can I believe, as I look up to empty skies

Are you there for me? Will you be there when I die?

Without faith you're lost, my faith's been gone for years

Can you save my soul? Dear God, do you even care?

You say your only son was hammered to a tree

How can I believe that the blood was spilled for me

If thy word is true, and each word I take to heart

Can you tell me Lord, when did armageddon start?

If we all are sheep, and you will lead us not astray

Then can you tell me, why do people kill today?

Are we all your children, even those who kill my friends

Is this what you meant when you said you'd forgive our sins

Now I'm ready to die, as the dark clouds roll over me

Now I do believe that there's nothing left to believe

So give me a sign, and shine it bright for the world to see

For, what good is faith, when there's nothing left to believe
