1. Pokémon, I Choose You!(its not pikachu i choose you!!)

Ash Ketchum is a 10 year old boy from pallet town. He vows to become the world's greatest pokémon master, but is off to a late start, after sleeping in on the day he was to receive his first pokémon. With all the beginner pokémon gone, he has to take Pikachu, an electric mouse. As they start off on their journey, Pikachu is quite unhappy with his owner, but things get worse when they get attacked by a butt load of Spearows. Ash tries to protect Pikachu. Pikachu then realizes how much Ash really cares for him. Finally, Pikachu drives away all the Spearows with a powerful attack, but is left weak.

2. Pokémon Emergency!

With Pikachu weak from its victory over the Spearows, Ash rushes to the Viridian City Pokémon Center where he meets Officer Jenny and Nurse Joy. While Pikachu is recovering, Misty confronts him about her bike that Ash took in the last episode. Nurse Joy informs them that Pikachu will be okay. Just then, Team Rocket shows up to steal any special pokémon at the center. With the help of Ash, Pikachu is able to stop them and our heroes head off into the Viridian Forest.

3. Ash Catches a Pokémon

In Viridian Forest, Ash manages to capture a Caterpie all by himself. Misty, is more than disgusted, much to Caterpie's dismay. However, Team Rocket attempts to capture Pikachu. As they are about to succeed, Caterpie saves the day, after after the battle it evolves into a Metapod.

4. Challenge of the Samurai

As they continue through the Viridian Forest, Ash, Misty and Pikachu meet Samurai, a trainer who challenges Ash. As they duel, a swarm of Beedrils interrupts them and captures Ash's Metapod (thinking its a Kakuna). Ash attempts to rescue Metapod, but it evolves into Butterfree and defeats the Beedril swarm. After all that the gang heads off towards Pewter City.

5. Showdown in Pewter City

Ash, Misty, and Pikachu arrive in Pewter City to challenge Brock the Gym Leader for entrance into the Pokémon League. With help from a mysterious rock seller, Ash and Pikachu are able to defeat Brock (sorta). Brock then gives Ash the boulder badge and joins up with the group to pursue his dream of becoming the greatest pokemon breeder.

6. Clefairy and the Moon Stone

Ash, Misty, Brock and Pikachu head over to Mount Moon where the fabled Moon Stone is said to reside. As they are about to enter, they rescue Seymour the Scientist from some Zoobats who tell them that someone is placing lights inside the caves of Mt. Moon which are making all the pokémon inside confused. The villains turn out to be none other than Team Rocket who is trying to find the moon stone. With the help of the Clefairys and the Metranome attack, the gang defeats Team Rocket and then heads off toward Cerulean City.

7. The Water Flowers of Cerulean City

As the gang is about to enter Cerulean City, Misty seems to have disappeared. Ash, however, only concentrates on getting his next badge from the local gym, which appears to have been converted into a water show. The three stars of the show turn out to be the gym leaders, who would rather just give Ash the badge than fight, since all their pokémon were badly beaten by trainers from Pallet. Misty shows up claiming to be the fourth gym leader and will battle Ash, but they are interrupted by Team Rocket who uses a huge vacuum to suck away pokémon. Pikachu stops them and the sisters give Ash a well-deserved Cascade Badge for his heroic deeds(Why does Ash get a badge when Pikachu did everything?).

8. The Path to the Pokémon League

As our heroes continue on their journey, they meet A.J, a fierce pokémon trainer who pushes his pokémon to the point of exhaustion by brute force. , He has won 98 consecutive pokémon battles against other trainers ,but yet to own a badge. He easily beats Ash making 99 wins. Once he reaches 100, he’ll begin to go after badges. As Team Rocket tries to steal Pikachu again, they accidentally steal A.J.’s Sandshrew. A.J. beats them with a ground splitting attack, making his 100th win, and giving team rocket a headache. A.J. then begins his own path to the Pokémon League.

9. The School of Hard Knocks

Trying to find their way to Vermilion City, the gang discovers a special Pokémon school where you can enter the Pokémon league after graduation instead of winning badges. However, they see young Joe being pushed too hard by fellow students. As the students believe they are better trained than Ash and the gang, some pokémon battles erupt, which show that despite certain advantages one type of pokémon has over others, experience and levels are also a key to winning. They leave knowing they have imparted some wisdom on fellow trainers who they hope to meet in league someday.

10. Bulbasaur and the Hidden Village

After stumbling through some traps, our heroes find a secret village where they meet Melanie, a person who helps injured and abandoned pokémon. A distrustful Bulbasaur acts as watch guard over the village and wants Ash to leave. Suddenly, Team Rocket shows up with another high-powered vacuum to suck away pokémon. Ash helps Bulbasaur defeat Team Rocket making Bulbasaur trust him. But it is only after Ash proves himself in a battle that Bulbasaur decides (sorta) to join Ash’s group.

11. Charmander - The Stray Pokémon

Still on their way to Vermilion City, the gang sees a Charmander sitting on a rock. Pikachu relates to Ash that Charmander is waiting for its owner to return. So they leave and find the local Pokémon Center. There, they discover that a trainer named Damien abandoned Charmander because he felt it was weak. They rush back to the Charmander in the rain and save it before the flame on its tail went out. The next day, the Charmander escaped to wait back on the rock for Damien. Before they can convince it otherwise, Team Rocket has successfully trapped Pikachu in a rubber balloon, but Charmander makes them give him back and becomes Ash’s next pokémon.

12. Here Comes the Squirtle Squad

A nearby town is being terrorized by a destructive gang of abandoned Ray-Ban wearing Squirtles. The gang and Team Rocket fall for one of their traps . However, Meowth convinces the Squirtles to capture Pikachu for them. In the process, Pikachu gets hurt. Ash begs to go into town to get a super potion for Pikachu, and with the help of Officer Jenny, makes it back in time to see Team Rocket betray the Squirtles. Ash then helps the Squirtles defeat Team Rocket, and the leader Squirtle is so impressed that he joins Ash but gets rid of his Ray-Bans, as they head off in search of Vermilion City.

13. Mystery at the Lighthouse

After Ash catches a lame Krabby, the gang reaches a lighthouse and hopes to get some food and rest. Inside they meet Bill, the famous Pokémon researcher who lives at the lighthouse and waits to get a glimpse of a very rare, very unusual, and very LARGE pokémon. Using speakers, he plays an eerie pokémon call that succeeds in bringing in this shadowed pokémon. Unfortunately, Team Rocket shows up and tries to capture it, only to drive it away. But Bill will persist and stay at the lighthouse, hoping to get another sighting of the mysterious pokémon. Ash also hopes he will get to see and capture new pokémon.By the way the Pokemon was a LARGE Dragonite.

14. Electric Shock Showdown

The group finally reaches Vermilion City and heads over to the Pokémon Center to rest. There they learn that Lt. Surge is the local gym leader . At the gym, Pikachu is at first frightened, but when Lt. Surge and his Raichu make fun of the "baby pokémon," Pikachu is determined to win.(so determined that he is badly beaten). Back at the Pokémon Center, Nurse Joy offers a Thunder Stone to make Pikachu evolve to have a better chance at defeating Raichu, but Pikachu refuses and wants to re-challenge. They do, after learning a few more attacks, and this time Pikachu wins Ash a Thunder Badge.

15. Battle Aboard St. Anne

Our heroes win tickets to a free cruise aboard the St. Anne from a couple of Valley-type girls who turn out to be Jesse and James. In fact, the whole trip is a setup by the Boss of Team Rocket to invite pokémon trainers and steal their pokémon. On board, there is feasting, battling, and trading of pokémon. Ash reluctantly trades his Butterfree for a Raticate, and James gets conned into buying a Magikarp with Jesse and Meowth`s Paychecks. Then, Team Rocket tries to steal the pokémon, but all the trainers team up and defeat them. Suddenly, the ship is about to sink from the stormy seas. Ash and the gang retrieves his Butterfree, but gets trapped on board the sinking upside down St. Anne along with Team Rocket.

16. Pokémon Shipwreck

As our heroes and villains recover, they both realize that they need to get out of the sunken ship before they run out of air. When they run into each other, they form an uneasy alliance so that they can get out of this mess. They use their pokémon and safely (I use that term loosely) make it to the surface of the water. On board a make-shift raft, they are all starving, and they all want to eat Magikarp(Poor Magikarp). But it’s not edible, so James kicks it off the raft where it evolves into Gyarados (Oops) and performs the Dragon Rage attack. Everyone is blown away and separated in a watery tornado.Betcha you would of kept Magikarp if you know that it would turn into a Gyrados

17. The Island of the Giant Pokémon(My Favorite)

Waking up on an island, Ash, Misty, and Brock discover that they have been separated from their pokemon. Elsewhere, Team Rocket finds they have been separated from their pokémon, too. The pokémon meet up and have one of the most sickiningly cute conversations I’ve ever heard and form a truce. As the humans look for their pokémon and vice versa, they both find giant pokémon of various types. Although running away from sheer fright, the humans are able to reunite with their pokémon and discover that the island is a theme park with giant 30 foot robotic pokémon.

18A. Tentacool and Tentacruel

As they wait for a ferry in Porta Vista to get back to the main land, Ash and the gang see an injured Horsea who is tries to tell them something. Later, they find out that an old rich woman named Nastina is having trouble with Tentacool disrupting construction of her hotel. She will give a big reward to whoever exterminates them. Misty is disgusted and refuses, but Team Rocket takes up the challenge. However, they only succeed in making the Tentacools evolve into a giant Tentacruel (Remember Gyrados) that starts demolishing the town in retribution for the construction destroying their ocean homes. Misty convinces the Tentacruel that they will stop harming them, and they leave in peace, with Misty getting a Horsea.

18B. A Holiday at Alcopolco(NOT AIRED)

Ash's mother and Prof. Oak ,happen to come to Alcopolco, a resort when the gang arrives. They then find Ryu, an old man who runs a beach house. They help him with an idea to provide entertainment and attract buissness. Ryu uses their idea and holds a contest for the Queen Sunburn. The Rocket gang intrudes and spectators get into a panic, but Satoshi and his monsters successfully drive them back.Ash`s mother wins the title.

19. Ghost at Maiden’s Peak

The ferry deposits our heroes at Maiden's Rock where there is a Summer’s End Festival. There is a legend of a maiden who died over 2000 years ago as she waited on a cliff for her traveling love to return. Both James and Brock have seen her ghost and fall in love with her, but it turns out that the ghost is Gastly who seems to be playing tricks. They all battle it but Gastly keeps beating them, until the sun comes up and he has to leave. However, he vows to the real ghost of the maiden that he will return to keep her lege.

20. Bye Bye Butterfree

The group discovers a place where hundreds of Butterfrees have gathered to mate(its a kids show for gods sake!). Ash sends out his own Butterfree who becomes smitten with a pink Butterfree. However, the pink Butterfree ignores Ash’s Butterfree. Ash tries to cheer him up, but Team Rocket crashes the party and steals all the Butterfrees except Ash’s. Ash and his Butterfree are able to free the others, and the pink Butterfree finally falls in love with Ash’s. And so, Ash bids a farewell to his Butterfree.
