Arizona. Designed and maintained
independent experiment, under the supervision of Dr. S. Smith to compare
phenotypic variation among accessions of Digitaria californica, a native
perennial Arizona grass species; extensive data collection, analysis of data
using specialized statistics software; modeling of genotypic variation using
correlation of phenotypic data with geographic data.
Undergraduate
Researcher, Department of Plant Science (May 1994 - August 1995)
Tucson,
Arizona. Characterized phenotype and
genotype of two Agrobacterium transformed lines of Arabidopsis thaliana in Dr.
K.A. Feldmann’s laboratory, using various molecular biology techniques such as
electroporation, Agrobacterium transformation methods, preparation of tissue
for light microscopy and electromagnetic spectroscopy,
restriction-fragment-length-polymorphism and southern blotting procedures.
Student
Intern, US Department of Agriculture (May 1991 - August 1992)
