Stan
Benjamin started
his Law Enforcement career in 1960 when
he was assigned to Davis-Monthan Air
Force Base in Tucson, Arizona, working
all facets of Security Police and Law
Enforcement. In 1966-67, Stan was a
Reserve Sergeant with the South Tucson
Police Department, serving as the
Department's Firearms Instructor.
In 1967, he started his career with the
Tucson Police Department where he
remained until his retirement in 1987.
From 1974 to 1980, Stan was the
Department Historian and even though his
assignment changed in 1980, his interest
in history continued.
Between 1984 and 1986, Stan completed
six books about Arizona Law Enforcement
uniform patches. After retiring, Stan
began researching and writing
the history of Law Enforcement in
Arizona towns. He has produced 14
different books, some of which are currently out
of print. Stan has been married for 41
years and still lives in Tucson, where he has
two children and six
grandchildren.
