Rebsie Fairholm is an English singer who felt the calling to traditional music but found the lure of 60s psychedelic rock too great an influence to resist, ending up with a darkly evocative cornfield-edge psych-folk. Inspired by the land and the lingering spirits of the ancestors who tilled it, she has a sweet and haunting voice which touches the listener on a deep level.

A mixture of reinvigorated traditional songs and new original ones transforms the sound of the ancient past into a silky psychedelia.

She has also appeared on a couple of releases by The Owl Service.

Debut album Mind The Gap now released on Sonic Spongecake. Click here for more details.

New album and new project in the works ...

Rebsie's second album Seven Star Green is almost complete and will be released later in 2009. The new material builds on the foundation stones of Mind The Gap but with added sonic richness and depth, reinventing the sounds of the ages in a unique new dynamic.

She is also working on a new project with writer and multi-instrumentalist Daniel Staniforth (left) which treads a more experimental path and makes use of their combined voices in mesmerisingly atmospheric music.
