Teens For Struggling Horses©
Teens For Struggling Horses©
This is a six
month program of healing for horses and youth.
Teaching communication skills to young people can be a challenge.
Teaching teens that may not have had appropriate role models for social skills adds to the challenge.
Add youth who are trying to sort out feelings dealing with abuse. Mix well with young people who have demonstrated poor judgement and are in the juvenile court system. The final product is wasted talent, wisdom, and achievement. The final product becomes a threat.
Teens For Struggling Horses© is a non threatening program designed to guide young people toward appropriate social skills, compassion, and self worth. A hands on approach increases success potential while developing team-man-ship.
Much can be learned from the horse, as is chronicaled in
“Horse Sense and the Human Heart”written by
Adele Von Rust McCormick, Ph.D., and Marlena Deborah McCormick, Ph.D..
Horses are family oriented animals, who maintain close social relationships with one another.
They carry-on constant communication and discipline through their Inner Awareness Language.
Young men and women who are troubled during their teens can
benefit dramatically from association with horses.
At Susan Catt School of Equine Inner Awareness the Teens For Struggling Horses© program allows the horse to guide youth toward social skills and instinctual listening.
Through which, youth discover their own emotional and spiritual being
that is mirrored in their equine companion.
Thus, inner healing begins for these young men and women as they recognize their troubled Equine’s struggle, courage and triumph. When choosing a new path the horse leads their companion youth toward emotional stability, social acceptance, respect, compassion and spiritual wellness.

Teens For Struggling Horses©
GUIDES YOUTH TOWARD THE FOLLOWING DEVELOPMENTAL SKILLS:
A horse with HONOR, SELF WORTH, and SENSE OF RESPECT for it’s INTELLIGENCE,
is a horse of EXTREME BEAUTY and WISDOM.
ISN'T THIS TRUE OF OUR YOUTH AS WELL?
Specific focus on equine emotional, spiritual, physical, and geriatric needs is placed foremost.
The well fare and well being of the struggling horse becomes the
impending need of each and every student.
As the horse responds, the student is rewarded. As the student becomes aware of the horses desire to communicate needs, the horse is rewarded. Both grow, both heal.

They are accepted for who they are and as equals by the horses they work with. Each student will work with more than one horse and in more than one program to gain the broadest experience possible. In many cases special problem youth will be teamed with special problem horses in order to explore their parallelism. Inner Awareness Language, body language, energy transfer, to emotional expression will be explored during these sessions which will lead to understanding and improvement for both, youth and horse.
