"Mother" by Tori Amos

"Don't dream it; be it" is an excerpt from a RHPS song, but sometimes dreaming it is being it; with this key we can unlock our deepest thoughts and desires. When we dream, we are taking the safest, most powerfully satisfying drug one could abuse without fear of addiction. A drug which is in endless supply, free of charge and ready to use whenever it is necessary. A natural, reliable method of extracting the truth or giving ourselves warnings of what is to come. Of course this is true only to those of us who can remember our nocturnal visions; recalling each fantastic detail. The capability of transforming everyday occurrences, meetings, situations into such beautifully exaggerated unconscious moments. What blissful, creative things we try to remember upon rising-if we force ourselves to. Psychic James Van Praagh claims that we can even leave our physical beings and enter the "other side" during the act of dreaming. I would like to believe that; I would like to believe that I can visit my mother every now and then. One thing is certain, you must cherish the time you have with your loved ones while you and they are still on Earth; if you can no longer communicate with them on this Earthly plane...try to remember them in your thoughts and dreams.

I will always be dreaming of you Saint Vincenza...I miss you mom

The Lure of Artistry

The sense of warmth and comfort we experience when we interpret an artist's work to suit our own needs is reassuring; it is an affirmation that the artist, upon creation of the piece, was suffering from the same emotional confusion that the rest of us deal with at times. A sense of companionship is then achieved although we know very little of that person we are drawn to. Of course this is a truth pertaining to all facets of artistry. I've always been captivated by the work of Salvador Dali, a member of the surrealist movement during the early part of this century. I will be featuring a different painting or sketch of his every week in the Dali Gallery. However, I will keep "Anthropomorphic Cabinet" as a permanent fixture. This particular painting means quite a bit to me; a desperate soul exposing drawers of emotion-removed from society's definition of normality. Dali said the following about this painting, "The unique difference between immortal Greece and the contemporary epoch is Sigmund Freud, who discovered that the human body, which was purely neo-platonian at the time of the Greeks, is today full of secret drawers that only psychoanalysis is capable of opening." I know that some people may think that Salvador Dali is a big jump from Medieval art, but surrealism (using fantastic imagery to expose the workings of the mind) may be stretched to include magical or imaginary worlds and creatures. I think my friends will understand that even the Castle Scribe needs a diversion every now and then...

You've probably noticed the overwhelming presence of Tori Amos songs on this web site. In the future another room will be added onto this castle...a Tori room (this castle is storing an extensive collection of Tori pictures that need to be displayed); for now you'll have to settle for a few originally recorded ad libs from some Tori show recordings. She likes to create little prefaces to some of her songs - only two to offer you right now (these are very large wav files)...

"Cornflake Girl"

"Caught a Light Sneeze"

Friday, September 3rd 1999- some of my friends and I packed into my Jeep at 3:00 am to catch a glimpse of Tori Amos performing live for a taping of Good Morning America in Central Park, New York. Never...in our wildest dreams - did we ever think we would get so close to her. Here is just a sample of the many photos we took that day (my friend Becky snapped the great close-up pictures of Tori):
