Oliver Howard Brandon

Oliver Howard Brandon, aged 72, died suddenly at his home in RD 1, Wampum (Pennsylvania), at 10:45 yesterday morning.

Born in Butler County June 18, 1884, he was the son of the late William Welsh and Sarah Heckert Brandon. Upon his retirement ass a carpenter, he farmed for a number of years.

He was a resident of Shenango Township for 38 years. His religious affiliation was with the Independent Calvary Church of New Castle. He and his wife would have celebrated their golden wedding anniversary February 13.

Survivors are his widow, Edna Elizabeth Orr Brandon, and t he following children: Mrs. Lula Taylor and Mrs. Margaret Churchfield, both of RD 1, New Castle, George W. (Brandon) and Delphia Lechner both of RD 1, Wampum, and Mrs. Sarah Watts of RD 2, Lowellville, Ohio.

He also leaves 16 grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Laura A. Spang of Renfrew, Butler County.

A son, David Howard, died in 1942.

Friends will be received at the Marshall Funeral Home in Wampum from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today and tomorrow. Last rites will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Marshall’s. Officiating will be the Rev. Howard Sartell, pastor of the Independent Calvary Church, assisted by Rev. G.E. Shaffer.

Burial will follow in the Harmony Baptist Cemetery.
