Mrs. Margaret A. Brandon Churchfield, 59, of 637 Harmony-Baptist Road (New Castle),
died at her home at 6 p.m. March 12, after an extended illness.
She was born in Butler County on July 5, 1917, to Mrs. Edna Orr Brandon and the late
Oliver H. Brandon. Mrs. Churchfield was a member of Castlewood Christian and
Missionary Alliance Church, a teacher of the Ladies Bible Class of the church, and a
member of the Women’s Missionary Prayer Fellowship She is survived by her
husband, Vernon Churchfield, to whom she had been married 38 years; a son, Sgt.
Donald Churchfield with the U.S. Army in Italy; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Betty)
Shaffer of Ellwood City, and Mrs. Jimmy (Charlene) list of Edinburg; her mother Mrs.
Edna Brandon of New Castle; three sisters, Ms. John (Lula) Taylor and Mrs. Walter
(Delphia) Dean, both of New Castle, and Mrs. Albert (Sara) Watt of Lowellville, Ohio; a
brother George Brandon of Wampum, and six grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by a brother David Brandon in 1943. Friends will be received at the William F.
and Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. Monday. The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home conducted by
the Rev. D.P. McCarvey of the Castlewood Church. Burial will be in the
Harmony-Baptist Cemetery.
