Arizona Rangers

The Arizona Rangers, a non-profit, community service organization, is dedicated to the following objectives:


Territorial Arizona Rangers

The Territorial Arizona Rangers were creatd by the Arizona legislature in 1901. They were organized to protect the population throughout the territory from outlaws and rustlers.

The Rangers were picked from law and military officers, and ranchers, with a total company strength of no more than 26 at any time.

During their existence from 1901 to 1909, the Arizona Rangers apprehendied law breakers, and quelled disturbances in Ajo, Gila Bend, Globe, Williams, Holbrook, and the Morenci miner's strike of 1903. They also helped county and territorial officers on numerous occasions. They contributed to establishing Arizona Statehood in 1912 by reducing crime.

Modern Day Arizona Rangers

The current Arizona Rangers were established in 1957 as a community service organization in support of law enforcement, youth activities and organizations, and maintaining the traditions of the Old West.

There are presently thirteen companies of the Arizona Rangers(including Headquarters):

High Country Company

Phoenix Company

Santa Cruz Company

Scottsdale Company

Show Low Company

Sierra Vista Company

Sonoita Company

Tucson Company

Verde Valley Company

Yavacopa Company

All Rangers contribute their time, furnish their own uniforms and firearms. Any monetary donation received from an organization that utilizies the services of the company is deposited into the company treasury, and a portion of that money is donated to the Arizona Boys Ranch in Queen Creek, Arizona.

The Arizona Rangers sponsor a Christmas party for the boys at the Ranch every year, furnishing needed items, and presents for each of the young men, or what ever else the Ranch may need.
