I
am the Mother,
Goddess of the Full Moon.
I am called Parvati
and by many other names.
I am the bringer of life
and the mover of tides.
It is I
who coaxes the child
from the womb,
and causes the seed
to break open its green
to the marble moon.
In ancient times
my daughters knew me
as the purifier and the renewer
and I come to you still
once in twenty-eight days.
Call upon me
when you want to make real your dreams.
When you want to be purified,
walk in my light
and purify also your sacred tools,
herbs, and water.
For I am the washer-away of the old
and the bringer of the new.
Whenever you have need,
call upon me
and I will know your name,
for it was I
who gave you your name.
