So many obstacles clutter the path
Far too high to see the beauty in the distance
The faith grows thin and weak
The strong become frail
And doubt looms like a dark cloud over
Something so infinite and undeniable
The wind grows cold, the storm relentless
And the lives on the path face never ending change
Communication becomes emotional and more revealing
Tension takes its toll on the collective mind
But the souls still reach out and embrace
Conveying that which mere words can not
The feelings grow above and beyond the chaos
So a light peeks above the walls in the way
Of the weary and downtrodden, so lost in despair
A foothold is found, and the fear is cast aside
Driven by passion, sparked by desire
Fueled by love written in both stars and stone
The brave hearts within each other and of themselves
Climb slowly into clouds of uncertainty
Only to see the light shining brighter on the other side
The lovers know they must do battle
With all which would destroy what they have
Fought so long and hard to build
And they know what is theirs is
Worth fighting for above all else
For themselves and for their family
