Site Trip Report:
Another trip to Matt's Peak today. This time the muddy roads were dry and passable. Stopped in at Glen's bunker for a few minutes to say "hi" and on to the peak. Matt drove halfway up the hill to facilitate easier carrying of things. Installed solar charge controller. With minor physical modifications, everything fit fine. First connections turned the LED on. Wow, we hooked something up right! Hooked battery side up, and shazaam! We have voltage. After a while, we turned on a radio, and again shazaam! We have a live repeater! Finally turned on the 420 radio. Gooollyyyy Sarge, that's really somethin! Finished mouse proofing the cabinet, checked the battery fluid levels, and listened for a while. The audio coming from Kingman on 420 sounds good, now that it's on frequency. Good job guys. We left the repeater ON and the 420 radio OFF to allow minimal battery drain for a few days. When I get back up to Mt. Francis, I'll turn the macro back on to Matt and turn 420 ON. Keep your fingers crossed. Took a few pictures while we were there. 2 more on the roll and I'll send them in to be developed. Then I'll scan the ones we took and send to Matt for the website.
