A spell is a ritual in which various tools are used to bring about a desired result. The goal is stated, either with words, or visualized in the mind. Energy is used to make it happen. Here is an example of a simple spell that you can make up yourself. If you desire love, rub candle with rose oil, light it, while concentrating on your goal. Let the candle burn out. Concentrate while annointing the candle with the oil. When you light the candle, your will will be released to work to your desired goal as the candle slowly burns down. The need, the knowledge and the emotion are all here. Try making your own spells up. They have more power in them because you are personally involved with the making.
Casting Circles and Calling Quarters
The Circle is formed with personal power that is felt and visualized as coming from the hand or athame, to form a sphere of energy around you.
Once the energy is coming through your athame or hand, walk the Circle three times deosil, or clock-wise, while envisioning the energy trailing after you to form the Circle. When you are done making the Cirlce, shake your hand to shut off the energy flow. Now you can call the Quarters.
There are many types of Quarters. Some of my friends use Angels, Elementals, Watchtowers, etc. You should use the one you feel the most comfortable with, and the one with whom you feel affinity toward.
To call the Quarters, you should imagine a door allowing the Quarter to come in and guard your Circle.
To the North, I summon the forces of Earth.
Let your renewing strength bury all ills
and open new paths before me.
To the East, I summmon the forces of Air,
To bring out the old, and bring in the new
On your wings of change.
To the South, I summon the forces of Fire,
To burn away regrets
And shine your gentle rays upon me for warmth.
To the West, I summon the forces of Water,
To cleanse me of negativity,
And purify my thoughts.
Now perform your rite. When you are finished, release the Circle the same way you cast it.
Protection Charm Spell
Tools:
One red candle + one white candle
A small piece of white paper
Oil
Ink pen
Red Ribbon
Set the white candle alight on the left to represent the Goddess and a red candle to the right to represent the God. Place the materials for the spell between the two candles.
Using the oil, with your right index finger, draw a pentegram (star inside a circle) in the middle of the white paper, while saying, "With the seal of this pentagram I request that this charm be used for protection."
Using a pen, in the center of the oil-drawn pentagram, draw your own special symbol for protection. Say, "With this rune, I request that this charm be used for protection."
When you are ready, roll the paper up with the red ribbon tightly lengthwise.
Hold the charm over the red candle and say,"I consecrate myself in fire so that I can defend myself and protect myself with the power I have."
Continue doing this with the smoke of the white candle, but consecrate it in the name of air.
Hold the charm with both hands. Concentrate on the charm's task. Then seal the left end of the charm with white wax, the right with red wax.
The charm is now complete.
How to make the oil yourself:
1 T base oil
4 drops primrose
4 drops lavender
2 drops sandlewood
Of course, you can always use whatever you feel will do the job.
Bring Love into Your Life
This spell is not intended to be used on a specific person. Send this out into the Cosmos to attract a mate. Wiccans believe that making someone fall in love with you is morally wrong.
Create an oil with unscented oil (try Safflower), mix with geranium, rose and anyother type of oil you wish to create a nice scent. Remember: if you don't have a oil, just substitute.
Empower the oil by thinking about love, commitment, contentment, etc. Allow your energy to go into the oil.
At the right moment, when you feel you have all the love energy built up in you, light a red or pink candle and say the following prayer:
Oh Lady who loves us,
Oh Lord who loves us well,
Please bring my true love to me,
The one of whom my dreams do tell.
Bright Lady of the Heavens,
Strong Lord of the Earth,
Please aid me in finding this love.
Let this harm none, let noone be coerced.
So Mote It Be.
Invocation of the Elements
This invocation can be used when casting a circle.
Air, Fire, Water, Earth,
Elements of Astral birth,
I call you now; attend to me!
In the circle rightly cast,
Safe from psychic curse or blast,
