.::Chapter Fourteen::.

The hours slowly crept by. My watch read 1:19AM and by that time Mac was curled up in Zac's sleeping bag, sound asleep. I yawned and repositioned myself on the lawn chair I had glued my body to for close to half the night. But the second I allowed my weary eyes to shut, a flashlight shone in my face. I squinted at the bright light and saw Isaac, carrying an exhausted Avery, and Taylor walking towards me. Her whole hand was bandaged up to mid-arm. I slowly rose from my seat. Taylor's eyes narrowed as he looked around the site, "Where's dad?" It suddenly occured to me that Zac and Mr. Hanson had never returned. "I don't know. They didn't come back yet," I said. "I'm gonna put her to bed," Ike whispered to us and made his way to one of the tents. Tayalor sighed and collapsed onto the folding chair I was sitting on. He held open his arms for me and then pulled me onto his lap. "So what happened? How is she?" I asked and shifted my weight on his legs. He sighed again and leaned his head on my shoulder, "A snake bit her. She went into a state of shock but it wore off once we got to the emergency room. They didn't know if the snake was poisonous or not but they still gave her two shots of anti-venom." I smoothed his hair against his face and kissed his cheek. "Dad's gonna kill me," he concluded.

"You guys need to go to bed," I saac told Taylor and I an hour or so later, "I'll sleep with these two in my tent tonight and you can have this one." He gingerly picked Mackenzie out of Zac's sleeping bag and took him into the other tent to be with his sister. I crawled into our tent, but Taylor didn't follow. "Ya coomin in?" I asked and stuck my head out the flap. He looked off into the distance and then replied, "Yeah, I'll be in in a minute. Nature is callin so it's time to answer." He walked away to take care of business. I laid back on one of the pillows to wait for his return. When he did, his shirt was no longer on his back but in his hands. Taylor threw it at my face just to tease me. I laughed and tossed it back at him. He caught it at first, but then discarded it to the tent floor. He stooped beside me. "Now Sidney, what are we gonna do tonight?" he asked me as if the question truly puzzled him. "I dunno, Tay. Try to take over the world?" I joked with him. "Hmm...we'll save that for later, but for now, I was thinking more along the lines of this," he lowered himself on top of me. After feeling his lips and tounge against mine, I sat up. "What's wrong?" he looked worried. "Nothing," I said, because all I wanted to do was pull my shirt off. Taylor smiled when he realized this, and I smiled back. I pushed him backwards so he was laying on the floor and sat on his pelvis. Once I undid the buttonfly of his pants, I slipped them off the best I could and proceeded to do the same with my shorts. He sat up and wrapped his arms around my waist. Taylor kissed my neck and then made his way to my shoulders. Between kisses, he managed to say, "Sid, I don't have any protection." I pulled away to look at him. Hypnosis seemed to come over me as I studied the sky blue color his eyes held. "It doesn't matter."
