THON is the largest student-run philanthropy in the world. It is a year-long effort which raises funds and awareness for the fight against pediatric cancer.
The Penn State IFC/Panhellenic Dance Marathon, aka THON began in 1973. Only 34 dancers particpated and raised $2,000.
THON now has over 15,000 student volunteers, 700 dancers, and has raised more than $61 million dollars, which benefits the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Children's Hospital.
