Custom made afghans, sweaters, shawls and more can be made to show lifetime achievements, personal interests, travel destinations, any interest of hobby, or just to wish someone luck or love.
Handspun yarn to your specifications is also available. I have been a spinner for 16 years and can make yarn for the allergic (I'm allergic to almost everything myself, so almost anything I make is pretty hypoallergenic to start with). You could (for instance) have a smooth plied yarn made with matching boucle for a particular project. Or combinations of various colors. What is your fantasy yarn?
The first two knitting patterns are out, a pattern for wimples and hoods, and one for easy triangular shawls. Both are unique to the knitting pattern industry in that they are written to be knitted in any weight yarn. This is a boon to spinners, because you can spin whatever weight yarn you want, and the patterns will still work. Later, there will probably be patterns that will require a specific weight yarn, but for now, I'm trying to write things so that they're more flexible.
The next pattern out will be for mitts, both long and short!
Soon, I expect to have photos of some of the things I've knitted up on the site so that you can see what finished projects look like, and possibly buy finished goods.
Eventually, I intend to expand from fiberarts to other arts and crafts, some of which are skills that most people believe extinct (like spinning). . . hence, the name of the company, Lost Arts!
