3. Adobe Photoshop Elements – A limited edition of the popular professional two-dimensional drawing and photo editing program Adobe Photoshop.

A. Adobe Photoshop Vocabulary

1.      Layer – Is the working surface of a Photoshop image. It is like a transparent sheet that sorts the paint and filter effect and can be printed.

2.      Palette - the basic Photoshop tool icons that help you modify and monitor images. Each palette performs a specific function and may be positioned and resized as desired.

3.      Swatch - a preset group of colors on a palette.

 4.      Gradients – two or more colors that gradually blend into each other.

5.      Mode – the number of colors available to an image. Options available are RGB, Grayscale, or indexed.

6.      Filter – created special effects that maybe applied to an image.

7.      Mask – is like a stencil. The area around the mask is protected from change and the area of the mask maybe changed. The paint and filter effects applied to a mask are stored in the alpha channel. A mask cannot be printed.

8.      Alpha channel – memory area that is used to store paint and filter effects.

9.      Thumbnail – a miniature version of an image.

10.  Flatten image – to merge all the layers in an image into a single layer.
