By way of explanation, I should say that Douglas Coupland is the author of a novel called Microserfs, which is about a group of computer programmers from a certain major software company (which will remain nameless), and their stumblings and misteps as they try to find real life in the midst of a culture undergoing a technological revolution. In the novel, the narrator summarizes himself and those closest to him by saying what the categories would be if their lives were games of Jeopardy. Here are mine:
If My Life Was A Game Of Jeopardy, These Would Be The Categories
How To Scare The People You Love
Neuroses
SF and Fantasy Novels
Comparative Religion
Fun and Games
Science and Technology
Chaos, Theory and Practice
It's a great book, in my opinion, and I make a point of re-reading it occasionally so that it doesn't fade from my memory. If you come across a copy, I'd recommend giving it a read.
