CHAPTER 1:

“You got that, Sam?” Jessica asked.
“Yep,” he replied in a strained voice.
“Can I help with anything?” Digger asked Jessica, who was watching Sam maneuver a large, heavy box through the door to his apartment.
“Um, I don’t know. Sam?”
“What?” Sam said; his voice still strained. “Ugh!” he grunted as he let the box rest on the floor. “I got it through the door! What did you want?” His voice was much more relaxed and he leaned up against the doorframe and looked at Jessica.
“Digger wants to know what he can do to help.”
“Oh. Ah,” Sam thought a moment. “I guess you could start to unpack, and Digger can help, while I get the last few boxes.”
“Well, I’m not going to be unpacking much besides clothes. He can help you with the boxes,” Jessica argued.
“Sure, whatever. Sound good to you, Digger?”
“Ay-uh. I can do that. It’ll keep me busy for a while.”
Sam and Digger went down the stairs to Sam’s pick-up and Jessica went inside to start unpacking.

They were snuggled together on his couch, relaxing after the day’s strenuous task of moving into his apartment. Luckily, she had been planning on moving anyway, and most of her belongings had either already put into the moving van or were waiting to be carried off.
They had been talking, but had fallen silent as the two marveled that they were sitting in his, now their, living room as an engaged couple. Both found it hard to believe.
“Sam?” Jessica asked tentatively. This was going to be an awkward question, she supposed. His reply was a deep, yet soft, hum. “Can I ask you a question?”
“Of course.”
“Have you ever… made love to another woman?” Jessica looked up, seeing only the bottom of his chin.
Sam adjusted his head to meet her gaze. He seemed to debate in his head before saying anything out loud. “Yes,” he said, hesitating. “My senior year in high school. But it was only once, and we broke up shortly after.”
She nodded. “Me too… except it was an accountant in Boston. It was one of those things that, well, we were in his apartment and things got a little hot and… you can guess the rest.” She had shifted her look downward to her lap, and now brought them to meet Sam’s eyes, which were still looking at her.
“Just curious, but why did you bring that up tonight?” Sam asked.
Jessica momentarily bit her lip, and then let go. “I don’t know if I will be able to live with you for the next three months and… restrain myself. I kind of… assumed you were still…”
“A virgin?” Jessica nodded in agreement. “Well, to tell you the truth, I was planning on marrying as a virgin, but things don’t always work out as you want to.” Sam noticed that, although she still looked relaxed, her expression was now a little downcast. “But you are the one I want to marry, and it is only three months until the wedding… I don’t know that it would hurt to do anything before we get married.” He closed his eyes and bent to kiss her. Slowly, they adjusted themselves until Sam was lying on top of Jessica.
The bulge in his pants was as large as his jeans would allow, and he pulled his open mouth from hers. “Would you like to continue in our bedroom?” Jessica nodded. Sam stood up, placed his arms underneath Jessica, and lifted her up. He carried her into the bedroom, not bothering to shut the door, and laid her gently on the bed. He unbuckled his belt, unbuttoned his fly, and freed his now-hard organ.
“Oh my God,” Jessica gasped.
Concerned, Sam replied, “What?”
“It’s huge!”
“What?” Sam asked; he was confused.
“Your, erm, cock…” Jessica nervously explained. It was the biggest she had ever seen, and she had seen many in her day. It seemed her boyfriends were all show-offy, but she only slept with that one. Sam got back in the bed and straddled Jessica’s waist and put his hands on the blanket between on either side of her chest.
He looked down to his waist and smiled. “It’s all yours, sweetheart,” he said as he lay down and went to work, which he soon proved he was very good at.

“Run and get Uncle Sam, Lauren. I’ll be waiting in the car.”
“Remind me again what we are doing Mommy?” Jill asked from the back seat. Lauren was standing outside her mother’s window.
“Uncle Sam and Jessica are probably tired out from all the moving, so we’re going to take them for dinner at the Clam Box… don’t you remember me telling you that?”
Jill shrugged. She had probably been busy playing with her new kitten when she was told. Lauren, beaming with excitement to see her uncle, turned from the car and ran up the stairs and snuck through her uncle’s door. She wanted to surprise him.

Jessica and Sam were lost in their own little world of delight and did not hear the little girl sneaking through the house.

Lauren heard something from her uncle’s bedroom and, seeing as he was nowhere else, assumed he was there. She also thought she heard Jessica’s, but she wasn’t sure.
She slunk around the walls and when she got to her uncle’s bedroom door, which had remained open, she jumped into the room. “Uncle Sam!” she yelled happily.

Jessica was about to climax when she heard, “Uncle Sam!” and Sam’s body collapsed over hers.
“Lauren… what are you doing here?” Sam said hoarsely. He cleared his throat, and his voice came out a little higher than normal. “Please go get your mother.” There was no immediate reaction, only a little, confused girl. “Now,” he said with an air of authority that made the girl jump and turn around, racing back to her mother. Uncle Sam had only used that tone of voice with her a few times in her life.
Sam took his weight off Jessica and looked down. “Sorry, Jess. Why don’t you hop in the shower quickly, I’ll throw some shorts on and wait for Molly to come up.” He rolled over, sighed and looked up at the ceiling.
“No, I’d rather just hide under the covers, with you. But you should get some shorts or something on.”
He got up and pulled a pair of hunter green boxers from his bottom drawer. He sat back down on the bed as Jessica wiggled to get underneath the comforter. He touched his crotch.
“What’s wrong?” Jessica asked. He looked as though he was in great discomfort.
Sam looked at her. “My balls hurt.” He put his head in his hands and waited for his sister.
Soon he heard a two pairs of footsteps coming through the tiled kitchen, and then Molly telling Lauren to stay where she was.
“Sam? Jessica?”
“Hi,” he said miserably, not bothering to lift his head.
“What was going on, exactly?”
“Probably exactly what you think was happening. We weren’t exactly expecting any little girls to come running into my-our bedroom.” Neither said anything. “How much did she see?”
“Sounds like everything… Except for Jessica’s breasts and your… dick.”
He finally looked up. “Why not Jess’s… tits?” He immediately regretted using that term in front of Jessica. He looked at her snuggled in the blankets and she raised her eyebrows at him.
“She said your hands were right here,” Molly explained, grabbing her breasts and squeezing.
“Close the door.” He waited. “What did she describe to you? I think we are going to have to have a talk with the girls.”
“We? As in all of us? I wasn’t the one who left my bedroom door open.”
“I’m not talking to the girls without you. You don’t need to say anything, but I don’t want to be there with only Jessica and myself.”
“Fine, I understand. Well, anyway, you were on top of Jessica, and your crotches were touching and she couldn’t see your ‘thing.’ And I already told you where your hands were. Is that a pretty good picture?” Jessica blushed; this young girl was going to be her niece.
“Damn. Sounds accurate. Guess that talk is going to be coming.”
“Yep. You should’ve closed your door. Lauren would have knocked first.”
Sam chuckled. “Yeah, I would’ve told her to wait, and we would’ve finished our business and then jumped under the covers. We were almost done. But she was the one who let herself in the apartment without knocking. When did you come, anyway?”
“Apparently before you did.”
Sam groaned. “Just to tell you, I am in physical pain as we speak, okay?” Jessica thought that he looked as thought he was ready to cry. She touched his back and rubbed it a little.
“Sorry. Well, we were going to see if you wanted to have dinner with us at the Clam Box. I figured you two would’ve been working hard and might be too tired to make dinner.” There was an awkward pause. “I guess you were working hard,” she said with a little bit of a smile.
“Somehow I don’t think going out for dinner would be the best plan of action today,” Sam said. Jessica agreed.
“Well, I’ll wait out in the living room. You two are not properly dressed for seeing any young girls.” Molly left and Sam turned on the bed and reached to Jessica for a hug. She put her head to his bare chest and began to cry.
“Sam,” she said when the tears had subsided, “I didn’t want our first time to be like this. It was supposed to be wonderful.”
“It was; it just didn’t end with what we wanted to. And would you like to know something else?” She nodded. “I thoroughly enjoyed it right till Lauren came in. But right now, my balls are very much aching. Three minutes later, and I’d only be feeling royally embarrassed.” He got a smile out of Jess. “It’s not funny- my balls really do hurt.”
“Molly’s probably right – it would not be decent of us to go out in the nude. Would you mind getting me some clean underwear?”
Sam raised his eyebrows. “Why?”
“Because I want new underwear. And my bra is probably sweaty from moving the furniture and stuff.”
Sam left the bedroom in search of women’s underwear, which he remembered was probably in Jessica’s box that contained her clothes, because she had not finished unpacking. And that box happened to be in the living room. Damn it. He went into the living room with a serious expression, trying not to look at his niece.
“Where’s Jessica?” Molly asked.
Sam barely looked up at Molly. He found the box marked “CLOTHES” and said, “She wants new underwear. She’s in bed,” his tone sounded grumpy with a touch of anger. He was not planning to say any more to the women in the room until he came back with Jess.

“Here, Jess,” Sam said as walked in. In his fist was a balled up, lacy bra and panty set. “I want to see those later, hint, hint.”
Jessica nervously laughed. “I’ll let you see them, as long as I feel up love when they leave.” She, too, was nervous about the upcoming conversation.
Sam pulled a pair of jeans from his bottom drawer and pulled them over his boxers before returning to the bed.
She stepped into her jeans and pulled them up. “You’re not going to wear a shirt?”
“No… If I don’t have to, then I don’t. You should know that by now.” They walked into the living room and explained what needed explaining to Lauren, giving only enough details to explain what needed to explaining.
In her head, Lauren vowed never to just walk into her Uncle’s house again, and especially never into his bedroom unless she knew where both Jessica and her Uncle were.
“Well,” Molly began, “I guess we will get some pizza and bring it home, instead. Goodnight, Sam, Jessica. We’re going now Lauren.”
“Lauren?” Sam said as the she walked to the door. She looked at him with pink cheeks. “I’m sorry for yelling at you.” Lauren didn’t say anything, but Molly yelled her name from the bottom of the stairs outside. She didn’t hear what Sam had said to her.
Lauren issued a barely audible goodnight and walked silently out the door. When the door closed, Sam and Jessica let out a long breath and fell back against the sofa. Sam sighed. “That’s not something I ever want to do again, Jess.”
“I won’t make you do it, if we have a little girl, that is. But, if we do, and she asks you, then you have to be a part of it. Deal?”
Sam turned to Jessica. “Deal. Now can I see you in that lacy lingerie?”
“Be my guest,” Jessica said and pulled her T-shirt over her head.

“What did Uncle Sam want?” Molly asked.
“He apologized,” Lauren said quietly.
“And you said…?” Molly asked.
“Nothing.”
“You march back up there and respond for goodness sake. And, Lauren, you should apologize as well.”
“Yes, Mom.” Then she turned around and went back up the stairs.

“I can see your nipples through the lace.”
“Is that why you picked out the set?” Jessica asked.
Sam smiled. “Yes,” he said, which was followed by a kiss. Jessica opened her mouth to his and he gingerly slipped the bra straps off her shoulders. The door creaked open and Sam looked up. His nieces had good timing.
“Lauren… what are you doing here?” he asked while standing up, momentarily forgetting the bulge in his pants. He was using every bit of his energy to control his temper. The girl’s eyes widened when she noticed his crotch, which was bigger than jeans would normally allow, seeing as he had forgotten to zip the fly. Sam looked down but knew it would not be enjoyable zipping up now. “Girls!” They looked up at him.
“I came to accept your apology,” Lauren stated eloquently. “And to apologize for sneaking into your bedroom.”
He pursed his lips and closed his eyes. The protrusion in his pants began to lessen. When he opened his eyes, he felt much calmer. “Lauren, you are forgiven. But please, please, please, do not do it again. And I will make sure that we close the door next time and-“ he looked down at Jessica, who was hiding behind a pillow, “-we’ll stay out of the living room. Okay?” There was a faint trace of a smile on Lauren’s lips and she ran off.
“Sam?”
“What?” he said looking down at her. The strain in his voice had greatly diminished, but it was still noticeable. He went to the window and watched the car pulling out of the parking lot. “They’re gone,” he said happily.
“I’m sorry,” Jessica said.
Sam whipped around and his face was filled with compassion. He came over to her and kneeled in front of the sofa. “Don’t be- it’s not your fault. It just happened. Okay?”
“Well, I didn’t really mean that, I just meant in general I’m sorry it happened. But now that you mention it, I was the one who brought up the topic of sex.”
“No, Jess, don’t take the blame.” He kissed her square on the lips. “I hope you don’t mind, but I’m not really in the mood anymore.”
Jessica smiled. “Neither am I. Maybe we should try to restrain ourselves these next few months. Or maybe…” her voice trailed off.
“Or maybe what?”
“Maybe we should talk to Reverend Ben.”
Sam was a tad confused. “About what?”
“Well, maybe we really weren’t supposed to have sex, you know? Or maybe we shouldn’t sleep in the same bed or maybe we can have sex.”
Sam smiled. “I have some leftover pizza in the fridge. We’ll talk over that. And I don’t mind if you leave your shirt off.”
“I can say the same, Sam.”

“Reverend, may we speak with you after the service?” Sam asked as they were walking into the church.
“Of course.” They all smiled and went to sit down.

Reverend Ben was sitting at his desk when the couple came in. “Ah, Jessica, Sam, what can I do for you? Is something wrong?”
“Well, not really, but there is something bothering us that we thought maybe you could help us with. I don’t know if you’ve ever been in our situation before, though,” Jessica explained.
“Please tell me,” Ben requested them.
“Well,” Sam began, “One Wednesday night, we finished moving Jessica into my apartment. We… decided to make love and were… in the act when Lauren, my niece walked in. Jessica, Molly, and I ended up explaining much of sexual intercourse to her. We were pretty shaken up.”
Reverend Ben nodded. “Well, no, I have not had that happen to me before, but I do know that explaining sex to my own children was not my favorite, nor the most relaxing, part of parenthood. I congratulate you on explaining it to your niece.”
“Thank-you,” the couple said in unison.
“What exactly do you want me to say?” Ben asked.
“Ah, well, basically, is it okay for us to make love?” Sam asked. He had continuously attended church since he was born and felt more comfortable around Ben than Jessica.
The Reverend thought a moment. “Hmm, I would say that it’s up to you. Do you feel you’re ready? Or would you rather wait the few months until you’re married.”
“You don’t have any qualms with pre-marital sex?” Jessica asked, a little surprised.
“Well, the Church says that more or less to stop reckless sex. It is suggested that one waits until he or she is married, but you are two responsible adults, who are engaged no less, so I don’t have any great issues against it.”
“Thank-you, Reverend Ben. I think you gave us something to think about,” said Sam.
“Then I will see you around. Bye Sam, Jessica.” They shook his hand and went home.

CHAPTER 2:

“I now pronounce you man and wife. You may kiss the bride,” Reverend Ben announced. He was happy; the little speech he had given to the happy couple did make them think. They had told him that they decided to wait until their wedding night to consummate their union. He figured, however, that they were still fooling around a little, and had probably done other sexual acts, but they told him that they decided to wait to have intercourse until they were married, using their exact words. Also, Sarah, Emily’s daughter, had actually talked Lillian into coming to the wedding. Even he had not been able to do that.

The reception was fantastic. The food was great, and Jessica was sure to give a big hug to Sam’s father for recommending the restaurant. In return, he asked Jessica to dance, seeing as her birth father had passed away. While she was dancing with Joe, her father-in-law, Jessica saw Sam approach her mother.
“Mrs. Warwick?” Sam said. Lillian only grunted. “Mrs. Warwick, I know we didn’t get off on the right foot, but my father just danced off with my bride. May I have this dance?”
“I don’t know why you would dance with me,” Lillian replied grudgingly.
“Please?” Sam asked.
“Oh, fine. I see that you’re not going to leave me alone until I accept, but if it gives me a heart attack, you’re paying my medical bills.”
Sam smiled and reached his hand to Lillian and helped her up. “If I give you a heart attack, I will personally give you mouth-to-mouth.” Sam hoped it wouldn’t come to that.
As they were walking to the dance floor, Lillian said, “I hope you don’t have two left feet. My toes could use not to be stepped on.”
“I assure you they won’t.”

Jessica smiled as she saw Sam walking towards her with Lillian on his arm. Lillian, of course, was arguing with Sam about everything imaginable.
“Mrs. Warwick, I would like you to meet my father. The one who ran off with my bride.” Sam winked at his father.
Joe took his hand from Jessica’s waist and shook hands with Lillian. “Pleased to meet you.”
“I’m sure you are,” she replied snootily. She had an air about her that made her seem on a pedestal above them all. “Where’s your date?”
“My wife? Marie is over there talking with some friends.”
“I see.”
The two couples danced until the song was over, and Joe walked Lillian back to her seat. “Cotton Eye Joe” came over the speakers and the bride and groom, along with the other young couples, really got their groove on. Off to the side, Dan had asked Emily for the dance.

They were now living in their house with the pond, the one that Sam had bought before they met. It was not finished, but it was decent enough for them to be able to use it. The bedroom was finished just in time for them to be able to use it on their wedding night. It was the first time since the summer that they had made love.
Sam locked the front door before they went upstairs. “Just in case,” he explained, ”our little nieces come exploring, right?”
“Yes, they’re our nieces now, huh,” Jessica marveled. “But how about you don’t think about them right now and you think about how nice it would be to be with me. Without any interruptions.”
“Oh, baby, those thoughts entered my mind before I got to the alter.” He chased her up the stairs and she scooted off into the master bathroom. “Hey – what are you doing?”
“Taking off my wedding dress. You go wait in our bedroom. Take off your tux. I’ll be out shortly.”
Sam sighed and ambled into the bedroom and took off his tuxedo.

Jessica appeared in the doorway in the sexiest lingerie he had ever seen. His eyes widened and his mouth drop. He could feel himself getting hard without the constriction of his boxers, which he had taken off with his suit. “You look delicious,” he said when he could speak. He looked her body over and noticed that the corset she was wearing settled nicely over see-through panties. “Did you… wear that all day?”
She smiled and nodded and walked over to him. She straddled his lap and pushed him to the bed. Although Sam was fully aroused, Jessica was not, but the foreplay helped that a lot. Just as Jessica was about to slip herself over her groom’s manhood, he spoke. “No.”
“What?” she asked, anxious.
“I want to be on top our first time as man and wife.”
She smiled. “I guess I can agree to that.”
“No offense, it’s a man issue. That and I want to try to make it as good as it was when we were caught.”
Jessica nodded in understanding, and let him have his way with her.

CHAPTER 3:

Jessica awoke with a certainty she was going to be sick. Maybe I’ll get over it, like yesterday, she thought to herself. But today she really thought she was going to regurgitate whatever she had eaten last night, which did include some of Sam’s lovely chicken, a recreation of what they had made that one night at her apartment.
Knowing the moment was then, Jessica jumped out of bed and dashed into the bathroom. Her quick movement disturbed her sleeping husband, who was no longer asleep. He had been cuddled around her naked body, and suddenly cold, autumn air rushed against his own naked body.
“Mmm,” he moaned groggily. “Jess?” He sat up, rubbed his eyes, and heard Jessica puke.
They had already been married 4 weeks. Well, three and a half. “Jessica? Are you okay?” He got out of bed and wandered into the bathroom, where Jessica was rinsing her mouth and flushing the toilet. “You sick?”
“I don’t know. I didn’t feel well yesterday morning, but I figured I was just hungry because my stomach—“ she turned back to the toilet and puked again. She had a few dry heaves after, but that was all so she rinsed her mouth again. “I felt better after I ate yesterday.” Sam opened his arms for a hug, but she declined.
“No, I don’t want to get you sick if I have something contagious.”
“I don’t care. You need a hug. Then I will get you some food if you like. Okay?”
“Just some toast,” she said as she embraced him.

Even though she only wanted toast, he made a fried egg, just in case, to go along with her toast. She ended up eating that as well, claiming it was much better than any egg she had ever made. Suddenly, she stopped eating. She put her fork down and looked at her husband.
“Do you feel sick again?” he asked.
“No. Sam… what if I’m pregnant?”

CHAPTER 4:

“Pregnant?” he repeated, a little unsure.
She nodded. “I am a few days late already, and this could be morning sickness…”
“Late?”
“My period,” Jessica explained. Sam nodded in understanding. “I will go to the store Wednesday after work to pick up a pregnancy test. And you can come too, if you want.”
“I can’t on Wednesday – I agreed to stay late at Luke’s to help him with something… I can’t remember what.”
“Oh. No matter. I can go alone.”

The following day came and went, and Jessica began to get nervous – she had never gone to a store to buy a pregnancy test kit before. Tomorrow she would have to.

Jessica went to kiss Sam on the lips on her way to work, and he put his hands on her cheeks and gave her the most romantic, passionate kiss she had ever had. “Will they mind if you come in a little late for work today?” Sam asked softly.
Jessica smiled, “No, I don’t think so. But you can call for me.”
“Okay. I’ll call; you run upstairs and take off that nice suit so we don’t get it wrinkled or anything. All right?”
“Sounds great.” Jessica ran up the stairs.

“Hi… This is Sam Morgan.”
“Oh, hi Sam! What can I do for you?” the voice on the other end of the phone replied.
“Jessica will… be a little late to the bank today. Is that okay?”
There was a knowing chuckle on the other end. “You have plans for her this morning?”
Sam blushed and was glad the woman on the other end couldn’t see him. “You could say that.”
“Don’t let her be too late, lover-boy. And tell her to enjoy herself.”
“I won’t let her come too late, and I will personally see to it that she enjoys herself.”
They said their good-byes and Sam hung up the phone. He hurried upstairs to join his wife in bed.

“How was it, Mrs. Sam Morgan?” Jessica’s boss asked her when she got in.
“What?”
“Well, when Sam called in, I knew what I would be doing if I were you and had that sexy guy attached to me.”
Jessica blushed. “Well, it was good. Very good.” She looked around and saw no people within hearing distance. “His cock is huge. And he’s very good at what he does.”
“I knew the former, but I don’t know that he was all that-” she stopped her mouth from talking by snapping it shut. Jessica looked at her skeptically.
“Were you his girlfriend senior year?” Jessica asked.
She nodded. “We broke up before it was over, though.”
“I know,” Jessica told her. “He told me he broke up with his girlfriend shortly after he… screwed her. I asked him if he had ever had sex before, and he told me of his one time. It was before we had made love.”
“Yeah, well, I am surprised you were the second one, but on the other hand he told me he wanted to stay a virgin until he got married, but I kind of pressured him into it.”
Jessica had enough talk about her husband sleeping with another woman for one day and decided she should get to work.

As soon as time allowed, Jessica left work and drove to the drug store to get her pregnancy test. The man behind the counter wished her luck as she hurried out the door and back to her car.
At home, she waited nervously for either a ‘-‘ or a ‘+’ to appear on the little screen. After what seemed an eternity, a little blue ‘+’ emerged. Ecstatic, Jessica flew down the stairs, out the door, and into her car, which took her to Cranberry Cottages.

Sam scratched the back of his head. “Are you sure you didn’t ask me to stay late today? It’s Wednesday… Isn’t there something you wanted me for?”
Luke shrugged. “If there was, it must not have been important because I can’t remember it.”
“Neither can I.” The two were silent for a moment. “But I can’t leave until Digger gets back.”
“Hey, Sam!” Digger yelled.
“Yeah?” Sam yelled back. Digger came over to Sam and Luke. “Sorry I ran off today – I felt the urge to take a walk, and Grace would probably have the police searching for me if I waited till I got home.”
“Sure, I understand,” Sam said.
“Well, listen, I found this really neat chunk of drift wood, I left it over yonder. Would you like to come look at it?”
“Sure, it could be an interesting addition to the cottages, said Luke as he and Sam followed Digger to the driftwood.

No one heard the car rolling into the driveway nor Jessica slamming her door shut in a hurry to find Sam. Jessica saw Sam talking to Digger and Luke, but only Digger saw Jessica running happily across the yard. He kept his mouth shut and watched, along with Luke, Jessica pounce on Sam and kiss him passionately. For a moment, Sam stood there being kissed without responding, his arms at his sides and his eyes open. When he realized he was being kissed, he kissed back. Jessica pulled away first. “It was positive!” she tried to whisper, but it wasn’t much quieter than her normal voice.
“Positive?” Sam asked.
“Yes! You know…”
Recognition lit up Sam’s face. “Really?” Jessica nodded. “Can I tell them what I did?” The two other men were now very curious.
“You can tell them the result, but not what we did,” she laughed.
“Digger, Luke,” he addressed his comrades. “Jessica might be having my baby.” He grinned and kissed Jessica again.
“I guess you two newlyweds want to go home and… celebrate, right?” Digger assumed.
“Maybe,” Jessica responded. “I’d like to make an appointment with my doctor before we do any ‘celebrating.’”
“Can we celebrate first and then call the doctor?” Sam asked hopefully.
“No, he’s closing in a half hour. Now get your butt in the truck I’ll follow you home.”
The bystanders chuckled. “I guess I’ll hitch a ride?” Digger said.
“I’ll drive you home. Guys – are you going to be telling anyone yet, or is mum the word until further notice?”
“Mum’s the word,” Sam said.

“Friday morning sounds good,” Jessica told the receptionist on the phone.
“So you’re going in Friday morning? That was quick.”
“Well, babies are important. Shall we celebrate?”
“I’d love to, darling.” They went up the stairs, hand in hand.

CHAPTER 5:

“Please go with me Sam,” Jessica begged. Sam didn’t want to attend the appointment because he had never been to an ob-gyn before, unlike Jessica. But he found it hard to say no to her pleading eyes.
“Okay, fine. I will.” He finally agreed to go, but he felt uncomfortable as he parked the car in front of the doctor’s office. He felt even more so when he sat down in the waiting room and Jessica told the receptionist they were there. When Sam looked up from his lap, he noticed most of the women in the room were staring at him. He smiled handsomely, but they weren’t helping his nerves any.
“Stop it, you flirt.”
“What- I was just smiling,” Sam told Jessica innocently.
“I was only teasing you.”
“Mrs. Morgan?” Jessica and Sam looked towards the voice. “The doctor will see you now.”
“Okay.” She stood up. “Are you coming, or are you going to sit here with these lovely ladies and boast your size?” Sam got up and followed his wife, but he didn’t see the women in the room staring at him with wide eyes. Not only was he tall, dark, handsome, and incredibly sexy, but apparently he was also generously endowed.

Sam watched the procedure while holding Jessica’s hand. When the doctor came back with results, the both squeezed each other’s hand.
“Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Morgan, you are pregnant. Would you like to know the date you conceived, Jessica?” She nodded. “I have estimated that it was about November 20th or 21st. Does that sound about right?”
“The 20th was the day after we got married,” Sam informed the doctor. “It’s definitely plausible.”
“Well, good. I don’t want to give you a due date just yet, but I have a feeling it will be around August 15th, okay?”
“Yes, thank-you doctor. We will be in touch?” said Jessica.
“Yes, yes we will. Bye-bye, and congratulations.”

“I think we should invite your parents over for dinner tomorrow, Sam. We could tell them then. What do you think?”
“Sounds great, Jess. I’ll call them when we get home… I’ll say that because we ate Thanksgiving at their house, they should have dinner with us.” The couple smiled happily at each other.

The doorbell rang, and Jessica opened the door. “Hi, how are you!” she exclaimed to her in-laws. “I hope you don’t mind me asking, but do you mind if I call you mom and dad?”
“Of course not, dear,” Marie, said warmly. Joe smiled. “Sam is in the kitchen finishing up dinner.”
“Oh, I’ll go see if he needs any help,” said Marie. “Oh, and I brought this pie. It’s a pumpkin pie.” She showed Jessica the pie and walked into the kitchen.
“So why aren’t you in the kitchen cooking rather than Sam?” Joe asked Jessica.
“Because I can’t cook. Sam is much better than I am.”
“Really?”
“Yes, but I think it runs in your family. You, as I recall, are also a good cook.”
“Thank-you.”

Sam and Jessica sat across from Sam’s parents. They were eating the last few bites of the meal when Sam moved his right hand from his lap to Jessica’s and squeezed her thigh, signaling that they should make their announcement. Jessica put her fork down and Sam cleared his throat.
“Mom, Dad, we would like to tell you something,” Sam told his parents. His parents looked at the couple intently.
“We’re pregnant. Well, I’m pregnant. Sam just helped with that a little,” Jessica informed them.
“Oh, congratulations!” Marie exclaimed. “A new baby!”
“Way to go, Sam, getting her knocked up already!” Joe said.
“Dad-“ Sam started. He didn’t really want his parents thinking about him making love to Jess.
“Are you going to find out if it will be a boy or a girl?” Marie interrupted Sam.
Sam looked at Jessica for an answer. She shrugged. “I don’t know. I think that’s something we will have to talk about. Mom,” Jessica smiled cutely at Marie, “will you help me bring the dishes in?”
“Of course, dear.” Marie and Jessica got up and took the dinner plates from their husbands and walked into the kitchen.
“So, what’s she like, Tiger?” Joe asked, putting a new implication on his son’s nickname from when he was five.
“Dad! Please don’t ask any more questions relating to sex, Jess, and me okay? I think I’ve already been traumatized enough.”
“Yeah, sorry Sam.” Something that Sam had said dawned on him. “Wait, what do you mean you’ve 'already been traumatized’?”
“Didn’t Molly tell you?”
“No…” he said slowly.
“Laura came in on Jess and I. Before we were married.”
“Oh… I see…” There was an uncomfortable silence. “Did you hear about the storm that’s coming tonight?”
“Tonight? No.”
“Well, it’s not a real Nor’easter, but it could be an early blizzard – leaving us with a white Christmas.” “Hey, that’d be great. When’s it supposed to start snowing?”
Joe looked at his watch. “Mm… around seven or so.” He got up and went to the window. “Looks like it’s early- only six-thirty and I see some flakes.”

“So, are you excited?” Marie asked Jessica when they were in the kitchen.
“Of course I am! I wasn’t sure that I wanted to be pregnant so soon after we got married, but when I found out that I was, well, now I can’t wait until he, or she, is born.”
“I know how you feel. So, how long have you definitely known?”
“Since yesterday. The doctor said that the baby was probably… conceived a day or two after the wedding.”
“Oh! A honeymoon baby! How cute!” Marie exclaimed.
“I wanted to tell you first because I’m not sure how my mother is going to react. We had those problems before the wedding because she didn’t want me to marry Sam, even though I love him.”
“Why not, dear?” Marie asked. She was scrubbing the food off the dishes and putting them in the dishwasher.
“She feels like Sam is ‘below’ me, socially. Somehow I think I would have had to marry a Yale grad with a master’s from Oxford to get her approval.”
“Between you and me, I think my mother felt the same way about Joe. Don’t let him know that, though. She came around when I got pregnant. Which was only a few months after we got married.”
“I don’t know- my mother’s very stubborn.” Neither woman said anything for a moment. Marie continued her dish work and Jessica stared out the window. “Hey – look, I think it’s snowing!” Marie looked up.
“Joe said something about a blizzard tonight. I didn’t take him seriously. Maybe if Digger had said something about it, but I haven’t heard any of his weather reports lately.”
“Well, let’s get on to that pie before we start hearing complaints from the other room. I’ll get the rest of the dishes if you get the pie all ready,” said Jessica.

Sam went outside to check the accumulation while the women cleaned up dessert. He came back inside snow white. “Mom, Dad, I don’t think you’re getting out of the driveway tonight. It seems to have stuck quickly and it really is a blizzard out there. And it’s too dark to shovel. Besides, remember what happened last time I went out in a storm?”
“You got engaged,” Joe replied.
“Yeah, well, I also wound up in the hospital.”
“Minor event, son, minor event.”
“Dad, please stay the night. If Sam doesn’t want you to go out, then maybe it’s best,” Jessica said.
Before Joe could say another word, Marie agreed to spend the night. Relieved, Sam and Jessica went to work making the guest bed that they had set up, but never given sheets to.
