What a wonderful start to a new year. Dinner was filled with good food and even more great conversation. I would like to start by giving a very warm Welcome to our newest member Ellen Nolan, who joined us for dinner Monday night. After Dinner we jumped right into business and got to work, So far we have adopted a class room , Nitro elem. School got a new LEAP Preschool room this year, and we have collected and donated” toys, tissues, books, and wipes, they were very happy to receive these items, as there is much need for outside donations.
Karen presented our 2004-2005 budget and all seemed pleased, and it was voted on and passed, for those of you not at the meeting, if you wish to have a copy please feel free to call me I will send you one.
A Rummage sale is in the works for our club; Dixie is chairman of this project, and needs all the help she can get, so let’s all jump in and rummage through for a good sale on Nov. 5, and 6.
There has been some changes to the club house, new pictures on the wall, and some old ones hanging in new places, with the help of a design consultant we are looking to update the clubhouse, and so far all is looking good. The inside isn’t the only thing that is getting attention, we are getting bids on the painting of the outside of the building as well, hopefully in this we will be able to include on the side of our building a painting of our GFWC, and GFWC_WV logos what a wonderful way to brighten up our clubhouse!!
I hope everyone has gotten their GFWC Clubwoman magazine, and their GFWC-WV magazine, if so and you have read through them, please do not throw them away, share them with your community by leaving at your local beauty salon, or at your doctors office.
Voter’s registration is going well we opened our doors every Wednesday in the month of September. and it has been a hit, so far we have had 7 people to register, and we still have 2 more weeks to go, so don’t keep it a secret pass it along,
New Year books were passed out, there is lots information in the book, we will be adding to it through out the year, a special note of interest, there is calendars for every month we are in session inserted in your year book, so please use these to mark our days of events.
