PRAYER
Almost understanding
I come before You,
Never quite grasping You,
Never quite loving You...
I am soil.. I am leaf...
Growing among grass…
Your sun fills my simple being...
In midsummer days...
And I tremble to the touch of white snow...
In Your winter’s wind.
I live among souls...
Trying to reach them...
Longing to touch...
An eternal intent.
Sounding chords...a warm heart’s voice…
A deeper melody… a spirit taking the voice by the waist…
Delicately… intimately dancing…
And I feel.. yes.. I feel You…
Words without words.
Wounds healing.. voices intoning…
Sincere and new melodies..
Your presence talks to me..
Right out of my silence..
Right out of my thoughts..
Right out of my pain…
And I am grateful.
I am someone… I am here…
I think… I feel…I act...
Tears roll down my cheek…
Life is suddenly mine.
I come before You…
Almost understanding...
Never quite grasping...
But I love You.
