I have apprenticed with Marika Popovits,  Hungarian visionary artist for the last 17 years.  I was schooled in making paints like the Renaissance masters and to paint on wood.  I do this because I love returning to the ancient ways, the sacred process of alchemy.  I am intrigued with this exquisite process which creates greater luminosity, intensity of color and depth.

This process has always been as important to me as the product.  I like to paint quite large to have freedom of movement, as the brush dances about my board in orchestration with my fertile imagination.

As in dancing, I allow my partner to lead as I surrender my limited ideas and embrace the deep stirrings of my soul within.  There is a moment when I must leap, release control of my thinking mind, and allow the painting to speak its language.  Ultimately, I release the final outcome of what the painting will look like and all manner of pleasing synchronicities occur.  The painting reveals to me my inner nature and a deeper universal truth within the silence of my soul.

I choose to paint in this sacred energy of the moment, suggesting forms that embrace and nurture, with fluid colors and flowing movement.

The images I convey are from a myriad of channels, archtypeal, direct experience and interior musings.  I believe that images in my work are actually translations of energy taking form and communicating with the viewer.  My life's work and passion is to create from this awareness.
